I found this restaurant via web a year ago. Today was the day we stopped in for dinner. We were greeted and seated promptly. At 7 pm there was only my group of 5 and the other table of about 8. We ordered drinks (pop, wasser, tea) and the Large pretzel appetizer. The pretzel came out big, hot and tasty with mustard... More

We recently went back for another try, having found the food AND service leaving much to be desired in the past. I've got to say - the food was absolutely GREAT. VERY authentic in style and flavor, and presented in a way that was visually appealing, as well! Portions were more than adequate, and there's just no way to overstate... More

That's right. Fantastic selection of German beer and great German food. A New Braunfels classic that you can't skip!

Friesenhaus was great! Our large group was seated quickly and the food was delicious. Kid-friendly! Would definitely visit again and recommend to friends.

Texas schnitzel plate, german potatoes and steamed veggies for lunch. Tasted fresh and the was filling. Want to go back on Fri. or Sat. with the music.

We were looking for a place with a patio in New Braunfels and we were hungry. This place goes down in history as the absolute most amazingly bad food experience to date.

It is a German restaurant. Our experience was that the food was very good and the service was very good. There are lots of German beers on the menu that are served in mugs that match the names of the beers. However, there are no visible signs of where the beers are located, so for all I know they may... I have lived in Germany and eaten at many German restaurants in the United States. This so-called German restaurant was horrible in comparison. Mediocre food and poor service. Dismal decor. They played the same German song over and over again on the loudspeaker the whole time we were there.

I agree with Musvalot. We got a female waiter who started out announcing what they are out of instead of saying, hi, how are you? Wanted us to hurry and give our order and then forgot my food completely. Blamed that on the kitchen and really not very friendly at all. Food was OK but not very good for German... More
