I ate at the Gristmill with a group of 20+ students. With a group this large service is normally a little slower and not as good. Our servers at the Gristmill were exceptional and very attentive to our needs. I had the grilled chicken sandwich and it was delicious. Nothing but great things to say about this restaurant.

Nice place to eat. Great staff, and a really good setting. The food was good but not amazing. Huge portions so go hungry. Unfortunately not much in the way of light options (hoped the shrimp would be, but turned out to be battered). Good selection of wine and beers.

My third trip to the Gristmill. Atmosphere is unlike any other and is totally Gruene. All seating is essentially outside, so no A/C, but not really a problem.

Best food, service and atmosphere around. A must go!! The appetizers are sooo...good and I personally love their salads. I love the location but wish they had a water view.

My wife and i make it a point to come here every time we are in san antonio. We always get a table outside over the river. The food is good but not great. The setting is what makes this place and is why we always come back.

If you are in Gruene TX, you must have a drink or a meal at the Gristmill. Unique setting in the old gristmill and the tables outside overlooking the river are great! Go early for dinner or a late lunch to get a good seat!
