Great tea room, wonderful homemade Sangria, food was just as you would expect. Started off with the muffins variety basket...the butter cream cheese is perfect. We had the chef's turkey croissant & seasoned tortilla chips with fruit, the top round sandwich with chicken & dumplings and side fruit. Great place for tea room lunch and staff is friendly. Place stays... More

We really enjoyed this place for lunch. On the day we visited Gruene, it was 106 degrees, so it was very pleasant to have lunch and enjoy the laid back atmosphere here. Darla, our waitress was quite busy, but provided excellent service. The spinach salad with blackberries, walnuts, and strawberries was fresh and plentiful, and the club sandwich was hearty... More

Kind of like a bed and breakfast atmosphere. I believe I had soup and sandwich and it was really good. I would recommend for couple for sure if you're doing a romantic hill country weekend tour.

I have been to the Tea Room 3 times now--each time after a visit to the Animal World and Snake Farm Zoo in New Braunfels. The food is always excellent. I like the iced tea and they keep it flowing, which I love. I always get the croissant sandwich. The soups are different and very tasty. Last time they had... More

A friend of mind lives walking distance from downtown Gruene. We stayed there last week Thursday-Sunday. We tend to eat out late, due to all the day's activities. Went to a couple of other "well" known eating establishments on the square and it was a 2 hour wait. So, we decided on the Tea Room. Got right in and seated.... More

The food here is always excellent. It's a wonderful place to lunch with friends. We have been eating here for years and it is still awesome. My favorite is the salad sampler with chicken salad, pasta salad, and a green salad with the mandarin orange vinaigrette. The wine list is nice or they have flavored tea. They take phone reservations.

I dined here with my wife and kids because we found this restaurant in this web site. Located in Gruene, it is not in the main touristic path, so it was not crowed even if it was the weekend of the 4th of July. We dined in outdoor and it was very pleasant, so close to the woods and with... More

The Tea Room is one of my favorite places to have lunch. I love the quiche! I have tried different ones, but the Chicken Pecan is my favorite. Their salads are wonderful. The house dressing is so good. On cooler days I like to sit outdoors.

We stopped for appetizers and dessert at The River House Tearoom on a hot and humid Saturday afternoon. It's off the beaten track (good and bad - they deserve more business!) and offered a wonderful rest after a long, hot day of shopping. We had the herb fromage plate with sliced baguette and three orders of the world's most enticing... More
