hidden gem

very neat to walk to restaurant from the back thru small little shops along the path. I loved the portabella mushroom sandwich! My friends from this area love this place and I am glad they shared it with me.

Love this restaurant! We've been coming here every time we are in town for about 10 years. The blue cheese steak has always been on the menu and it is delicious. This time my husband had the hot and crunchy trout, kids had burgers, no one had any leftovers :). The wine list is small but excellent. The prices are... More

I remember when Huisache opened and it has maintained it's excellent quality over the years and 2 expansions of the building. Service is always professional, the kitchen gets the food out pretty quickly even when busy. And it does get busy, expect a wait during peak hours, but it does have a nice bar and waiting areas. Highlights on the... More

A friend of mine took me here for lunch to celebrate helping her move to New Braunfels. The minute we walked in the place, I knew it was going to be a special dining experience. The decor is refurbished and re-allocated antique wood, furniture & odd pieces in the most extraordinary of ways. Attention to detail in every corner. Beauty... More

We have been here several times and have always had a good meal... We enjoy sitting by the fire in the winter but in the summer , any room is fine....

My husband and I had just escaped a terrible oyster bar in New Branfels when we found this restaurant online. We marched right over looking for a date night with great food and drinks. We marched to the right place! The restaurant was absolutely charming, and the staff welcomed us with smiles and a table as soon as we walked... More

Stopped here for lunch on a rainy day. Waitress not very friendly but food was good. Lots of flavor to chicken tortilla soup but it could have been hotter. We had a variety of sandwiches & they were all good. California, Ham & Gouda, pork.

We visit the area quite often. We are from Corpus Christi. Over the last 5 years we've probably eaten here 6 to 8 times. The food and service is 1st class. Make reservations if your with a large group. Otherwise it's well worth the wait.

My husband and I have enjoyed eating here several times. If you don't time it right the wait can be pretty long but the ambience and setting make you not mind so much. The food is very good, the staff is friendly, and the restaurant has charm to spare in an understated elegant way.

Brief wait out back under trees was pleasant. Food was mediocre -- pecan encrusted trout was cold and brocolli way over cooked - salad was okay. We have eaten here many times thru the years and this was our worst visit.
