Good Food

I'm not from Texas but I can tell you it's 10 times better than Iowa BBQ!!! I've tried just about everything they have and it's all really good. Favorite is the brisket and the Turkey. Kids think the creamed corn is a dessert. Convenient and great for bigger groups and families.

I make my way to Rudy's every time I visit Schlitterbahn, that's one combination made in heaven. We always get 3 lbs of juicy slow smoked brisket and 1 lbs of sausage and make ourselves back to our resort room to devour the best bbq in Texas. This ratio of BBQ to sausage works just right to feed a family... More

Love this place. Go every chance I get. Brisket is amazing. And best sauce by far. Love the cream corn. Sausage is a let down though.

Excellent breakfast tacos! Made fresh to order. Jalapeño sausage was delicious. 8 tacos and a sausage wrap - $22! My kids talked me into it - pleasantly surprised!

In Texas, it is generally smart to avoid chain restaurant but sometimes you don't have a choice especially if one in your group says "I came all the way to Texas. I want some Bar-B-Q" Rudy's is a well known local chain that is growing beyond the borders of Texas. I hope that it is not a mistake. The brisket... More

Went with the family for some good ole BBQ, sat on the patio which was great because the kids could be kids. They enjoyed the picnic tables & open fire. The meat was amazing. Thought the loaves of wonder white bread was kinda weird, but hey kids love it. No one cared that the kids were up and down or... More

Great bar-b-que! On my most recent visit, I heard the young lady who answers the phone speaking with a vegan about the food at this bar-b-que joint. Seriously? Who makes such calls? She told them there were baked potatoes, coleslaw, potato salad, and three bean salad available. They were insisting that she understand the difference between vegetarian and vegan. She... More

As native Texans, we've eaten outstanding BBQ all our lives. We pretty much avoid BBQ chains. However, we wanted BBQ, had never been to Rudy's, had heard about it a long time, and decided to give it a try. Once inside, there are rows of iced down beer and soft drinks. If you want one, get it. Sides are in... More

I like BBQ, and this place does it right. We placed a large take out order in advance for a family gathering. They had the order ready to go, and packed it all in a special take out tray and box with dividers to keep the sides and sauces secure. The meats were first quality, and very well prepared. I... Wonderful barbecue, I love the brisket, turkey, sausage and chopped beef. I haven't tried the ribs yet. The stuffed baked potatoes with meat topping of choice are a huge meal, but a delightful indulgence. All the side I've had are good, especially creamed corn and pinto beans. Good desserts also. Nothing fancy in setting or service, but the great food... More
