Bland and dry, atmosphere needs work

I'll be honest, we DIDN'T eat there . . . but it's the only German food "game in town". Here's what we noticed. . . in a very crowded touristy town at 6:00 p.m. you pull up and there's only 5 cars in the parking lot. . .THAT'S A PROBLEM!! So we skipped it.

We stopped by for lunch and had a great German dining experience. The food was great, and the service was good as well. The interior is a bit small, but it has a nice homely and rustic vibe behind it. We found it very quaint and charming. It's very accessible as well; right off the road to Schlitterbahn.

Very good service offset this quaint little restaurant. Off the main highway, so easy to get to but outside atmosphere not much to look at. Food is genuine German and I suggest the Chicken Schnitzel!

This restaurant was recommended to us. Not a fancy place which we liked, but had a lot of charm. Staff very friendlly. Food was excellent if you enjoy German food, which we do. We started with the variety appetizer platter. Delicious! Will definitely return on our next visit. P.S. Carrot Cake is yummy too!

We ate at Oma's during a recent visit to New Braunfels, and we were very satisfied with the quality and selection of German cuisine. We had grilled sausage, jaeger schnitzel, pork shank, and stuffed chicken schnitzel. All were very tasty, and the schnitzel gravy was delicious. The sides we had were red cabbage (awesome), saurkraut (a bit more sour than... More

I went with my wife in May 2015 and ordered Wienerschnitzel with German potato salad while on vacation. I paid a decent price for it, $17.99 and it looked nice and golden brown on the plate but as I ate it, there were 3 small rare spots in the cutlet that I had to spit out. It did taste good... More

I use to love this place but it has slipped over the years. Were moving back to Texas and I bragged on this as a great place for German food.

Stopped by on our way through town. I had the Jager snitzel with the potato pancakes. They were both excellent. I would recommend getting the sauce on the side, as after a while the breading will get soggy. Service was excellent, and make sure to visit the dessert case!

This use to be one of my favorite restaurants in the area. My last visit was in 2012 and it was excellent. I returned in 2015 and was very disappointed. My primary disappointment came with the tiny portions for dinner. I think I left hungrier than when I walked in. The food was okay, nothing special. They no longer have... More
