Good German Food!

Went with another couple, so we had a chance to try different offerings. It was a slow Monday night after Easter Sunday, so we had their complete attention! My son and I had Jaegerschniztel, with potato pancakes as a side, and red cabbage as an extra. We both enjoyed it! Wife had meat spinach puff... read more

Went here first night in New Braunfels was not happy with meal felt as if I wasted $20. I had the Wiener Schnitzel and potato pancake. The Wiener Schnitzel was Ok and the pancake tasted like eating grease patty off the griddle. Not worth $20! Place was also run down with paint/drywall flaking on ceiling, bathrooms run down and rusty... More

Yes, a little depressing as you walk in, but we found the food to be "homemade" and pretty good. We had the sausage sampler with fried potatoes and rotkohl (red cabbage) and all were tasty; no complaints. The bratwurst was not available; how can that be?. Not all items on the menu were available and some of the beers were... More

This is a smaller German restaurant compared to the Alpine house and does not have a beer garden. However the service and food are also good here. Good value for the money and another favorite of mine.

We have been to Oma's House before when we are in the area, but tonight was really the best! We started our dinner with an order of German egg rolls. It came with 2 per order and what a treat it was. We each ordered something different to try. My husband had the stuffed schnitzel. It was wonderful. Stuffed with... More

Went on a chilly night. They had one little fire going, not enough to warm anyone. Band playing on back patio was mediocre, no one dancing. Older crowd. Left after an hour and joined gruen hall.

Very bland, all carbs. I have Chicken Fried Chicken w green beans which were over cooked frozen green beans. Pan fried potatoes, I do better at home. Potatoe pancake? Really? No flavor. I did want to TRY it since it was so close, but had a hard time choosing what to try and was disappointed.

We came to this restaurant despite its rating because the one we originally selected was closed. It was quiet and only a few people were in there, so the service was quick. We ordered Jaeger Schnitzel, potatoes and red cabbage and it was so much food we were glad we had decided to split one plate. All of the food... More

The Hubs and I stayed at the Hampton Inn next door. Despite mixed reviews on TA, we decided to give it a try for dinner. We walked into the front door and were in what seemed to be a small shop with mustards, steins, and a variety of touristy toys and other items that were not in the least German.... More

We stumbled across Oma's Haus on a quiet Tuesday night late December. The food is good and the beer is cold. However, the premises give the impression Oma's Haus has been better times. Additionally, the man who greeted us at the front desk had a permanent sad look on his face and his customer service skills could best be described... More
