While browsing the shops in the center of New Braunfels, we stopped in to Gourmage just to see what they had to offer. They had a very interesting mix of offerings from cheese, to sausage, to nuts and bread…and wine and beer, of course. The...very pleasant woman that we spoke to fixed us a plate of smoked cheese and sausage that was excellent, and even better once we added a beer. The perfect place for stop while shopping.More

Website says opens at 10:00 Saturday, not so it opens at 12:00 per sign on door. Wandered through downtown area for 2 hours. Once the shop opened It was disappointing. A small selection of cheese on display in case (maybe 10-12). Some wine on wall...rack. Chocolates in another display case. This is more cafe like then cheese shop.More

Visited on a Wednesday afternoon and found this t was Wine and Wedge Wednesday. Stephanie, the owner, was pairs wine and a Wedge of cheese that compliment each other. It was really tasty and fun. Also learned she does French Press Sangria every Friday in...September, which sounds cool and delicious. Always seems to have something going on that is fun whether with someone or pop in by yourself. This is now one of my go to places each week. Did I forget the handmade marshmallows? OMG, they are so soft and melts in my mouth.More

Ok so at least once a month my best friend and I come here at thrifting. We love the atmosphere it is so relaxing! The music they play like Sinatra, Dean Martin, and Bing Crosby just really blends with the atmosphere. They have a great...selection of Rose champagnes. We love the cheese boards! We have a favorite employee there that always recommends new cheeses and goes the extra mile. She knows our favorite drink and tells us to sit down and she’ll make us something to try. We normally are in there for 2 hours. We do miss their awesome grilled cheese sandwiches and their Nutella cheesecake was amazing!!!! But that does not keep us from going back every month. But we do thank you for always being a great place for 2 best friends to laugh and catch up and also slow down and relax! PLEASE BRING BACK THE NUTELLA CHEESECAKE!!!! 😘. The Wycliffe GirlsMore

I went to Gourmage two weeks ago & was so excited to find this shop & to come back. However, after my experience yesterday, I will never do so. The shop itself is very cute, with a small selection of wines, cheeses & chocolates &...should be very inviting. The sales clerk who worked the 7/7/18 evening shift, was extremely unwelcoming, stand-offish & disinterested. This lady had no interest in explaining the products even after we asked questions, her answers were short one word answers. My husband and I both felt this way & couldn't wait to get out of the store. It is very disappointing as I said before, I was so excited to go back. However, this one experience alone will prevent me from returning.More

Gem downtown. Gourmet and artisan cheeses Had the cheese board - three of their selections with prosciutto (bacon's upscale cousin), grapes, walnuts, fresh baguette rounds and what may have been the best fig jam I've ever eaten. Better half had chicken salad croissant. Fresh and...fabulous. If your in town don't miss it.More

Nice assortment of wines and chocolates but also a great assortment of cheeses. Nice place to have a glass of wine, sandwich and maybe a chocolte truffel while you rest between stores.

I visit here at least once a week when in town. They take the grilled cheese sandwich to a whole new level. Add a glass of wine, end your meal with a piece of chocolate and lunch becomes an experience, not simply a meal.

This is a cheese shop with so much else to offer - nice light lunch selections, try their chicken salad or their thick wild mushroom soup. Their sandwiches on sourdough bread are especially good and they have baguettes you can buy. There is a case...of fresh chocolates - big and delicious - the salted caramel truffle was my favorite but my friend liked the turtle with lots of almonds and soft caramel best. They have wine and mimosas if you want to while away an afternoon looking out the window or sit and work on your computer. Whether you want a quick lunch or to rest a while, this is a charming place to do it.More

My mom and aunt found this place while shopping on the square one morning. We decided to try it for lunch and were not disappointed. We each got something different and tried each other's, all were delicious. I had the havarti and rosemary ham grilled...cheese my mom had the watermelon feta salad and my aunt had the caprese salad. My favorite was the watermelon salad. They use fresh ingredients from a local farmers market so their menu changes with the season. Definitely recommend Gourmage for lunch!More

My friend and I happened on this great lunch spot across from the Art League Gallery. We had no plans to eat but the outside was so welcoming. Inside was even better with high ceilings, cafe tables, street views, and a friendly smile. Wines were...nice, cheeses were fab, and the other foods blended well. Lovely lunch.More
