This is a fairly new Sushi Bar and Asian Bistro that opened July 2009.
We went for the first time this last Saturday night, Jan. 16, 2010. The place was great - we're from Houston and we know great restuarants and this one is great for a small city like New Braunfels. Nicely decorated with an attentive owner and staff. I'm not much on Sushi but the young people from Austin, Tx. that we were with said it was very good. They also served Chinese dishes like "Happy Family" and General Tso's as well as Japanese tempura and teriyaki specialties. The Shrimp eggrolls and miso soup were good and the portions quite large - my husband and I split a meal and an order of eggrolls and we were stuffed. Anyway, great new place and needed in New Braunfels. I hope the owner does well!

We ate dinner in this newly remodeled Asian Bistro and Sushi Bar. It is usually very busy snd this night was no exception. They offer a full bar plus many Japanese beers, wines and liquors. The service is great and our waitperson checked on us often. The appetizers and entrees are traditional... read more

My family and I go there at least twice a month. It depends whom I'm with on what I order. My niece and I love the sushi, seaweed salad, miso soup. If I'm with my sister-in-law, we always get the spring roll, stuffed avocado and a shrimp appetizer. I've also been with my Mom, who loves the teriyaki beef. No... More

I was down in this area for work and was really craving sushi. The restaurant is very nice and clean. The service was good but the food was very mediocre. I might be picky when it comes to food because I travel for work so I've had some very delicious food. The spicy tuna didn't seem fresh but on the... More

We chose a selection of appetizers and were not disappointed. This is a neighborhood gem and seemed to have a very loyal local cliental. Comfortable, new surroundings. Good food at a reasonable price.

If you are in the mood for a great escape for lunch or dinner, looking for light, great food and a warm atmosphere, A-TAN is your place. It’s snuggled into a shopping center at 1528 Common St, between downtown New Braunfels and the area of NB commonly known as Gruene. A-TAN is newly renovated and beautiful inside. It’s light and... While it has some fans, A-Tan was not my cup of sake. Service was poor, slow and indifferent. The sushi is NOT even the best in New Braunfels. If you want good sushi, you should choose differently

Loved the food service was good the only thing I did not like was that the rolls would fall apart as soon as you picked them up.

Always on the look out for good Asian food, so tried A-Tan for lunch with friends. What a find! A family run restaurant serving excellent Japanese food. As it was lunch we went with a selection of appetisers - Spicy Edamame, Fried Chicken Spring Rolls, Gyoza, Spicy Seared Tuna Wonton, Fried Oysters, and Octopus Dumplings, All excellent, but the Seared...
