This is a fairly new Sushi Bar and Asian Bistro that opened July 2009. We went for the first time this last Saturday night, Jan. 16, 2010. The place was great - we're from Houston and we know great restuarants and this one is great for a small city like New Braunfels. Nicely decorated with an attentive owner and staff. I'm not much on Sushi but the young people from Austin, Tx. that we were with said it was very good. They also served Chinese dishes like "Happy Family" and General Tso's as well as Japanese tempura and teriyaki specialties. The Shrimp eggrolls and miso soup were good and the portions quite large - my husband and I split a meal and an order of eggrolls and we were stuffed. Anyway, great new place and needed in New Braunfels. I hope the owner does well!

Really Good Japanese

Always on the look out for good Asian food, so tried A-Tan for lunch with friends. What a find! A family run restaurant serving excellent Japanese food. As it was lunch we went with a selection of appetisers - Spicy Edamame, Fried Chicken Spring Rolls, Gyoza, Spicy Seared Tuna Wonton, Fried... read more

Loved the food service was good the only thing I did not like was that the rolls would fall apart as soon as you picked them up.

Very experienced sushi chef in a nice setting. Friendly and knowledgeable staff and management. Has all the typical sushi fare along with some specialty rolls as well. Price is typical for sushi.

This is an excellent restaurant! You can sit at the sushi bar and watch the gentlemen make sushi with their experienced and swift hands or in one of their many booths. They have plenty of staff on hand so there is virtually no waiting. They do serve alcohol and if you appreciate a decent brew, i highly recommend ordering a... More

This is our all time favorite sushi spot! The sushi is consistently good...we've never had an off meal! The sushi chefs are knowledgeable and creative! They will customize your rolls or even make a one of a kind one to meet your liking! Staff is friendly and service is excellent. Prices are decent....but lets face it....if it's cheap sushi, do... We originally looked up this place under Trip Advisor looking for sushi. It did not steer us wrong in New Braunfels. Food was great. My daughter was a little grumpy and tired from all day water fun, but the owner/manager came over to check on her and immediately brought her some soup trying to comfort her...and it worked! Service was... More

This is a great place to eat. The food was so good! We will definitely come here again when we are in New Braunfels! Best Asian food I have had in a long time! I had a noodle bowl and my husband and sushi rolls and both were very good!

Read the other reviews that claimed best sushi. Had to try it and this place is legit! It is by far the best sushi around. Staff is friendly too.

I never thought I would find a good sushi place in New Braunfels but I did! The fish is fresh and tasty, the drinks are great and the sushi chef is very entertaining......he can even.invent something for you. The service is always good and the place is always packed.
