The dining room is quite nicely appointed. The view out the rear of the property is of the Guadalupe River, thus the ambience is very good. The server who had our table was very personable and provided just the right amount of TLC without hovering. There was a breakfast buffet which looked enticing but we ordered from the menu. The... The smothered pork chops, beef brisket and sausage were out of this world great! Loved the fresh, homemade bread and the red velvet cake! We dined on the patio overlooking the Guadalupe River. Staff friendly.

The breakfast buffet was excellent as usual and had their huge cheese block that you serve yourself with. This restaurant is quiet early in the morning (9:00) if you enjoy an atmosphere such as this. Once we found this restaraunt we have not gone any where else for breakfast.

Great location and view of the Guadalupe River. You can dine inside or out. We enjoyed the exterior dining. Buffet setup is good and bar is well stocked. Friendly staff and beautifull building

The breakfast sausage is made by their own butcher and is very good. The family photos on the wall showing the rather large family as children and then as adults is a nice touch

I loved the food, extremely large portions for very reasonable prices, definitely would go back. Food was very good and I know they have an amazing buffet as well!!

Stopped by for lunch, fresh cooked vegetables, corn, green beans, cabbage, carrots, large salad bar with lots of toppings, pea salad, carrot salad, several soups to choose from, and the desserts. We tried peach cobbler and buttermilk pie.

We were thinking of stopping for lunch at the usual fast food restaurants and decided to give Schobel's a try! What a pleasant surprise ... a lovely building and place to sit outside. While it is a buffet ... you can eat healthy (or not) and the price was definitely worth it considering what you pay for greasy, unhealthy fast... More

Had Sunday afternoon meal here with family and friends while visiting the area. Charming old world style restaraunt with a nice fireplace in the foyer to warm you up on a cold winters day. I and several of my family and friends tried the buffet, even though there were several interesting looking entrees on the menu. Glad I did cause... More

We were on our way home from San Antonio and saw this from the road.. After some U turns and help from my iphone we made it there. We didn't really know what to expect and by looking at it I was worried that it would be expensive.. Thankfully it was very reasonable! It is on the river so we... More
