Refreshing choices!

Finally, a Mexican restaurant that offers a choice of sides beyond the usual rice & beans! Everyone is in our party was happy with the meal. Refreshing choices for sides, new options, and large portions - those were the themes for today! My only complaint - the shrimp tacos were great, but they... read more

We travel to nacogdoches several times a year because my niece is attending college there. We have eaten at several excellent restaurants in this neat little town but The Jalopenia Tree is one of the best. The food is great and the service even better. Lots of stuff to choose from on the menu. If your looking for the best... More

This another favorite of ours in Nacogdoches. The fajitas are so great. Nothing is wrong with a free ice cream cone at the end of your meal. Enjoy.

The wife and I stopped by in mid-afternoon for a late lunch. We both had the 'James Dean' (many of their combinations are named after golden age movie stars) which consisted of cheese and beef enchilada, rice, beans and either a guacamole salad or a queso cheese puff. We also ordered a cup of queso, which was very good. The... More

I love Tex-Mex and this was a great place for a meal. The food was great and plenty of it. The prices were good too.

This is one of my favorite spots. Friendly service and creative names for dishes, plus excellent margaritas. I love the festive atmosphere.

The company I was visiting brought this in for our working lunch. The food was really good. The Mexican butter was particularly delicious. Would recommend.

We were impressed with the solid selection of Mexican and Tex Mex. The quality of the food was very good. You can use the lunch menu all day in case you're not hungry enough for a large dinner plate.

Jalapeño Tree definitely has totally decent TexMex, and better margaritas. The homemade flour tortillas are excellent. The queso is a little bland.

My wife and I were in town visiting family and decided to try this place and I must say the food is awesome especially their homemade tortillas.
