Great fish, good service, but a little bland atmosphere

This restaurant serves excellent quality and proportions of all types of fish and shellfish. Staff are professional and pleasant but the restaurant is very grimly lighted and thus does not have a relaxed atmosphere. Much could have been improved with less "hospital-like" lighting.

We should have checked TripAdvisor before we booked here as the rating and comments are pretty accurate about this restaurant and we should have tried somewhere else, but the place came recommended and it was a fairly easy walk from our hotel. The reviewer who said it was a bit like private hospital food was spot on (not that I've... More

We visited, 4 people, to celebrate my mother's 60th birthday. We were all very happy with the food, we had mussels, prawns and fish and they were perfect. We were also very pleased with the wine and sparkling. Not to mention when the staff came in with a cake and sang to my mum, that was such a great surprise.... More

Located close to the Yumba centre this restaurant specialises in fish/shellfish and there is plenty of choice which all looked very good. My grilled turbot was a good choice if the vegetables were slightly overcooked. The local wine choice they recommended was also good and reasonably priced. My only criticism is that the service was efficient and fast but rather charmless.

Visited this restaurant with my travel friend, and we have sure been traveling a lot and had a lot of great dinners. This was not one of them - unfurtunately - because we had great expectations. We had for starters the Octopus and Seafood salat - both very nice. The Octopus was fresh and tender, with the right bite, nicely... More

If we passed it on the street, we would not have gone there. But the Guide Michelin recommends it and they are right, we think. One passes the showcase of the fresh fish and the patron greeted us and showed us to the table. He keeps an eye on everything that happens in his restaurant and ensures top service. Our... More

As a seafood lover , I found Rias Bajas very disappointing considering the Michelin awards signs as we walked in the door . Food was dry, over cook with no taste . I ordered a mixed shell fish plater the lobster was dry and small I have had better fish in local restaurants . Portion size for the platter was... More
