The best hotel in Ilmenau is opened again after its bankruptcy

The good restaurant, moderate prices, very attractive rooms and excellent personal made this hotel the best hotel in Ilmenau... until bankruptcy for a couple of months. Now the hotel is opened again under the new name.

Always enjoy my stays there. In the middle of Ilmenau and yet quiet. Food is good. Rooms are always spacious and clean. Breakfast is awesome. Can be difficult to find especially with GPS. Don't despair because it is worth it.

Dear All's, sorry to be forced to advise every one that recently, the Hotel Restaurant Lindenhof of Ilmenau, probably the best in Ilmenau, surely my favourite, has closed for bankrupt. Please, take notice and revise your list. Best regards.

We visited this restaurant on two occasions in December. Let me preface by saying the food is great - delicious regional dishes and a great atmosphere. Having said that, our first visit was flawless. We showed up without a reservation and got a table. The waiter was attentive and everything was perfect. The second trip (one week later) was not... More

The food was very tasty with a nice choice of meals. The restaurant is generally always full which is always a good sign, and so it was in my case. The waitress was also very professional and nice. She spoked English and was very helpful.

Very nice food but German portions still err on the generous side! This can be a wee bit overwhelming for the British traveller.

I tried one of the Thüringenspecialities with was very tasty, although there was way too much food. The waitress was freidnly, and spoke some English. They do a great weissbier too.

Didn't eat at the outdoor section but it looked really good. Food was reasonably priced, make sure you ask for still water if you want that as carbonated is the norm in Germany.

I had a 3-course menu here with a bigger group. The appetizer (Parma-ham with melon) was plain amazing, the main course (veil) was overcooked, but tasted ok, and the dessert (strawberries and filled dumplings) was again really delicious. The service worked well for even a group as big as ours was (>50 people), the only small minus from first approaching... More
