My friend and I go here at least twice a month, it is our favorite Mexican restaurant in Mesquite. The food is consistently good and the service is excellent. You can't go wrong eating here, especially on Wednesday when they have the enchilada special.

Taking Travel Advisors advice as traveling through the area and as usual - so glad we did! This well established restaurant is maybe a little dated but the open windows over the top of the restaurant give a really bright cheery place to eat lunch. And I'd try this place for dinner if I would've been in the area for... More

I love going to the restaurant. it reminds me of old style Mexican food that I had in Mexico many years back. The refried beans are the best. I have never had food so fresh and tasty. I will be telling all my friends about this place. If you want to taste the authentic food from Mexico go to this... More

This restaurant has been around forever, It has not changed it's menu that I know of over the years too much. But, this is what some people want . It is consistent with the flavors . I see some people state that it is bland . I have never had that issue . But I prefer food that has flavor... More

This place has been around forever. I've eaten there dozens of times through the years. Sadly, its best day are seemingly behind it. Very average TexMex. Decent service. Prices are slightly above what they should be. There are much better options in the Dallas area.. use tripadvisor to try them.

The worst BLAND/TASTELESS Mexican food ever! The chips and salsa were the only things that were good. The service wasn't very good either. We will NEVER go back. I had a chili relleno, it was made with ground beef that tasted old & freezer burnt. The egg coating was like eating a sponge plus there was a piece of something... More

This is favorite in our household. We usually go on Wednesdays when they have the "enchilada special." This place is packed, so go early around 5PM, or late around 8PM. If we get water to drink, we are out of there for under $11. However, my wife likes to get a piece of lemon pie. This is D.E.L.I.C.I.O.U.S! Very tart,... More

We have been coming to this El Fenix for many years and the service has gone down exponentially, as has some of the food quality. My husband doesn't like their queso but he loves queso so one night we ordered the fire roasted queso and it was amazing. It had larger peppers, and cayenne pepper mixed in and it was... More

El Fenix is always the first stop for family when they come to Texas. It's been a favorite for us for years. Chips and salsa are fresh & plentiful with just the right amount of heat. Food & service are always prompt. The soft cheese tacos are my favorite! It's just an easy, no nonsense, family run Tex-Mexican food place... More

Great Tex-Mex. Not authentic Mexican but it is a good place to get what most Americans call Mexican food. I had the beef enchiladas and tamales they we're good. The tortilla chips and salsa are the best and are complementary with meal you can also buy some to take home. The service is great the food came out at the... More
