Excellent brisket tacos

I had the brisket tacos with the anaheim cream sauce, and a side of onion/cilantro mix and lime wedges. They were delicious. Sauce was excellent. Plate was served with rice and refried beans substituted at my request for the black beans. I would definitely re-order this plate.

This El Fenix is ok, the food is average and many times because of the slow service the food is served to you cold or near cold temp.

Being a Dallas native, I've loved El Fenix pretty much my entire life. There are several locations conveniently located around the Metroplex. Miguel Martinez opened the first El Fenix Restaurant in downtown Dallas in 1918. If you want authentic TexMex it's the place to go.

This is my most favorite Mexican food restaurant. It's not a trip to the Metroplex without a stop at El Fenix. There is sometimes a wait and always a crowd. The food is AWESOME. I've never had a meal there that was not great although I admit my favorite is the cheese enchilada dinner. This is a LOCAL chain and... More

This has always been a favorite of our family and where we always eat anytime we would go to Dallas growing up. It's still as wonderful now as it was then. I always get the cheese enchiladas topped with chili con carne and the bean and cheese nachos are the best around! They have awesome chips and salsa which can... More

Ten of us went to EF for lunch and we were served quickly and very efficiently. They clearly have the finest margaritas in Dallas. The food was priced right and wonderfully delicious.

seems that no matter what day or time, you'll get the El Fenix Tex-Mex taste. Not totally bad, just lost it's WOW factor. Today our food (Mexican plate lunch and sour cream enchiladas) was more bland than spicy and more warm than hot. Service was horrible. I grew up with Fenix but I guess I will grow older without them.

this is a great place to eat, the food is great especially the sizzling chicken salad, the wait staff is friendly and make excellent suggestions on the foods, always a short time wait, the bathroom is clean, the margarita's are good, simply marvelous, would recommend this place for anyone that enjoy fine food and great hospitality

We have been going to El Fenix for years and probably will until we are either too old to drive or we cannot find a ride. :P In my opinion, El Fenix has the best Tex-Mex of any I have had. My favorites are the Beef Enchilada Dinner (large enough for two meals) or the Bean and Cheese Nachos. It... More
