Enjoyable Lunch

A small but pleasant little bistro facing the main square. For lunch Bistro 28 is ideal, basic good quality food at sensible prices. My wife thoroughly enjoyed her cheese and mushroom pizza and my plat de jour (shredded duck in mashed potato with salad) was a first for me and I was pleased I'd... read more

The Proprietor and Staff were very friendly. My husband and our two friends enjoyed their Pizzas very much. I had Dry Martini and Lemonade it tasted like the ones I drink at home. The Dessert was out of this World very enjoyable. We strongly recommend this place for other travellers. *****

As echoed from some of the reviews here, stay away from this place. We walked for a long time, trying to find a place to eat, but most places were full. We stumbled across this one and saw a crowd inside, Actually no one was dining, but everyone was having drinks. This should have alarmed us. The barman came to... More

Stopped for lunch yesterday. Lovely sunny day and the market was in full swing, so took a seat and watched the world go by. We shared a pizza with capers, anchovies and olives, and it really was the nicest I have ever tasted. Very thin base with lots of toppings - only 9.50 euros and plenty for the 2 of... More

We ate here because (to our irritation) our hotel, HOTEL LA SAPINIERE, does not open its restaurant on Sunday evenings. We were hoping for an early dinner, but St-Omer restaurants, as is typical, start service at 7pm. We arrived at Bistro 28 at 6pm, were told that service generally started at 6:30pm, but were served anyway. All good. We had... More

We decided to dine here last night at the end of a holiday to France prior to our tunnel crossing. There are many places to eat within the town square however we decided to eat here and found the food plentiful and tasty. The venue is run by a lovely French lady and her English husband both were good fun... More

We should have realised what we were letting ourselves in for when we walked in. It was a Saturday night and the place was empty! All the other restaurants around were very busy. The steak we ordered was questionable as to what animal it came from, although the waiter who spoke very good English assured us it was Beef, as... More

Waiter was more English than us. Food was nothing special and the origin of the steak was questionable!! Expensive and beers were charged more than was advertised. Will definitely walking passed this one

We found this by chance off the Main Square. Turned out to be a great choice, excellent food and a friendly welcome (in English)

Nice little bistro/bar in the main square. Staff speak English and are very friendly. Authentic tasty French dishes and good value quality wines. Coffee is excellent and service is fast - well worth a visit.
