We have looked at the St Charles several times in the past when visiting St Omer as it is in the same block as the Ibis where we tend to stay before catching a ferry or tunnel. Every other time we have for one reason or another passed it over for other restaurants , but we we decided to try... More

Lovely little restaurant, great atmosphere and full of French people! Several set menus to choose from, or a la carte, and really excellent value for money. We both had an aperitif, 3 courses, coffee and a bottle of wine for 80 euros. Really elegant décor and friendly service all evening. Highly recommended!

My family and I had hoped to visit another restaurant but it was full at lunch time thank goodness. Why? because we found Le St Charles. There were not many diners in the restaurant when we entered and we were a little dubious in our choice. However we should not have worried because the meal was delicious. we had the... More

Welcome to the world of French food. We have eaten at Charlie's before it was good then and I am very pleased to say the standards have not wavered since, when one enters Charlie's you feel, yes, I like this place, the surroundings are so simply decorated but yet so elegant, no fuss no bother just very pleasing to the... Chose this place for the reasonably priced but interesting menu with lots of French specialities we wanted to try. I had a lovely seafood salad for started and my boyfriend opted for snails..new to us both but tasty. A local sausage not unlike white pudding made a tasty main and a delicate set custard pastry and reasonably priced wine topped... More

Re visited last week. Still good. Menu 14.80, wide choice of food, very tasty, served well. Recommended it to several fellow caravanners on site, they all gave high praise too, in fact one couple went 3 times in a week!

We have been to Paul Bocuse and this restaurant rates with his. Wonderful food at a very reasonable price. Father and mother cook the food upstairs and their daughter is the very busy waitress collecting the dishes from the dumb waiter.

Prior to staying over in St Omer recently one Monday evening, I read many reviews of Restaurants that would be open, and I eventually narrowed the choice down to 3. Myself and my wife chose The St Charles, as the menus appealed to us. We chose 2 fixed price menus at 18 and 26 Euro respectively, and also enjoyed 2... More

We visited Le St Charles in St Omer on a day trip to Calais to stock up on wine for Christmas. What a superb restaurant to find! We were there for a lunch on a Saturday - it wasn't packed in there and the menu was in French (as you would expect), so our selections were a bit of a... More
