Good honest food at a good price with very friendly service

I was staying in a local hotel with a colleague at a golf club and didn't really fancy eating in the restaurant as the menu was very pretentious and the staff were very much the same. We ventured out and found this amazing little bar/bistro. The extensive menu is in French and English and is very... read more

Looking for somewhere to eat on a Sunday evening (we literally just followed an elderly local couple on the basis they must have been heading somewhere and weren't just out ambling around) we ended up here. What a find! It is rather compact inside, they have packed plenty of seating in there. The service was good, a mix of English... More

Ate with family. Children ordered an unappealing looking pasta bolognese that looked like it came from a packet. They ate without complaint - they were starving. One adult had what was supppsed to be meat feast pizza which turned up with lots of frankfurters some bacon and pineapples. This was one of the better meals we ordered. The other order... More

Dined there twice on a recent visit to the town; that speaks for itself! There is a good choice of menus ranging from 12 euros 50 to 19 euros 50, as well as a la carte. I had a very nice mussels in provencale sauce and returnedd on a second occasion for the same again. The atmosphere was vibrant on... More

One of those very few restaurants that I would quite happily travel some distance to eat in and there are not many of them about these days.

Just off the main square, up a side street, Le Gardian offers booth-style seating and a simple menu. My wife's salmon was excellent and I had a very nice pizza. With a sald to start and two glasses of wine the total was 34 euros - a good budget meal!

A lovely meal, made the kids really welcome. Food was really nice and good value, the Plat du Jour of Coq au Vin was so tasty!! Was so pleased that we chose this (at the last minute) - and even came back on the last day of our holidays as it was such a nice place!

Staff friendly , food delicious, great choice on the menu, really buzzing and fab service. We walked around the many many restaurants for ages and were really glad we settled on this one.

We recently visited St Omer for the day and there was lots of restaurants to choose from. We had previously stopped in a restaurant on the main square, but this time found Le Gardian in a side street. The restaurant was very busy and had a great buzz ! Lots to choose from, we opted for half pizza - half... More
