We were thinking about finding somewhere for lunch when we stumbled across the entrance to Le Carnotzet, checked out the menu, noticed we could dine outside, and headed up the slope hoping to find space. It was just what we wanted. Great to be outside on a hot day, wonderful to watch one amazing woman serving every table and to... More

Had a meal recently after reading the positive reviews and was disappointed. Either we have been spoiled by the other restaurants we have visited or we just had a bad experience. Also agree with previous review in that near the end if the meal they were clearing up around us as we were the last ones there at 9:30pm ????... More

We visited this restaurant twice during our stay in nearby Montazels. We were able to walk to the restaurant where the staff were friendly and the food very good. There is a good selection of local wines.

Warm welcome guaranteed. Whenever weather permits, the door is open, and hosts are friendly. They have a cute dog - more like a teddybear. The offering is a nice blend of nearby northern-Spanish, local languedoc, and far-away savoyard kitchen. A very nice terrace for the warm Summer days; a cosy carnotzet interior for other weather. Good wine selection. Bravo to... More

Passing through Couiza on route to home in Villerouge La Cremade from Andorra and found this great place purely by chance. Excellent welcome, and introduced to Blanquette the regional sparkling wine as an aperitif. This 'shampoo' is made in the area and legend has it that Dom Perignon took the recipe back to Reims, so we cannot call it 'shampoo'... More

We had lunch here in the nice courtyard in the sun. My husband had the Menu Du Jour - Rabbit Terrine, Pork Cutlets, and Il de Flottant. Not bad. I had a goats cheese starter, grilled prawns and chocolate fondant. It was all nice and filling. A good wine selection too at reasonable prices. The service was friendly and she... More

My husband and I were there with a couple of friends. Since we do not speak French, the owner took the time to explain to us the dishes and also recommended some wine that would go with it. The food was good, the service the same.

I hesitated between a 2 and a 3 on this place but was more on the 2.5 side. Thus a 2. The place has promise but it failed to deliver. Service, even by French standards, was slow and uneven. I perceive there is a new helper in the room learning the ropes and trust hasn't been fully dished to her.... More

Having driven past this restaurant many times over our five years in France, we took the opportunity to visit with some guests who were staying in the village - we were very pleasantly surprised. It was a warm evening so we sat outside in their small interior garden - it was also convenient as we were able to visit with... More

At the suggestion of our server we started out with an aperitif of the local blanquette with chestnut liqueur, which we all thought a bit too sweet. The wine for the evening was a delicious local pinot noir. My dish consisted of a salad in one bowl, frites in another and warm, melted Camembert cheese in a third, which I... More
