Yummy light lunch

Delicious toasty snacks called tartines. We had the onion confit tartine and the smoked salmon tartine and they were both tasty. The service was also excellent.

The menu is small, the restaurant tiny (and probably the smallest WC ever!), the terrace of a few tables on the pavement is also very compact. The welcome was one of the warmest ever. We ordered rose wine and were given samples of two to make our final choice. Mum and I shared the homemade foie gras which was amazing... More

We just popped in here for a quick drink before going on for dinner else where and the service and welcome were fantastic and polite. We were given a small cured meats mezze board with our drinks too. Wonderful little place - will visit again for dinner.

A good traditional address in Le Bugue. Good tartines and good wine, in the main street, with a little terrasse.

We loved Chai Monique for a coffee during the market, for lunch and for a light and easy dinner. Her menu is creative and delicious, and there is not a better place to meet and make friends. You'll see Le Bugue's most prominent citizens stop in for a glass of wine and a visit while enjoying the swirl of the... More

Chez Monique is really nice, but it is so expensive. I payed 18 euros for two cups of coffee and two slices of gateau. Much better to cross the road to the cafe with the Orange awning and enjoy your coffee with the beautiful homemade cakes made by Xavier for much less money sitting outside overlooking the river Vezere or... If you want a table, you need to book. A delightful small restaurant and you can see the works of local artists at the same time. Well worth a visit if you can there, Wines are also sold. Not open Wednesdays nor Saturdays.

Moniques is one of the friendliest and most gracious hosts I have come across. She runs her tiny Bar a Vin almost single handed and pays great attention to detail. She knows her wines and always gives you a taste first to make sure it is what you want. The food is delicious. We went twice in the 3 days... More

Superb, freshly cooked food. A rare experience of fine dining and wonderful service. Not very often the chef makes an appearance at your table to check all is perfect! Highly recommended to people who appreciate good food.

Monique makes you feel like you have been friends for years, her hospitality is wonderful and she really knows her wines, we had foix gras a few times and hers rates as one of the best, she matching up the perfect wine which no doubt brings it all together. The menu she offers is superb , Australia a long way... More
