Elegant Summer Lunch

Beautiful, perfectly prepared and elegantly presented food - I started with smoked salmon and choucroute - the delicately sour and smoky were divine. My main was dumplings of pickerel, shrimp and cabbage in a riesling sauce. It didn't sound exciting but it was incredible. We were served by the owner who is the perfect balance of professionalism, helpfulness and friendliness.... More

Walked down here from our hotel and was quite surprised by their quaint outdoor dining area. Our waitress was wonderful as she spoke several languages and was therefore able to help us and the German speaking table next to us. She was very knowledgeable about the wine choices. Our food was very good and the atmosphere is so nice. This... More

We were a foursome on our way from Metz in Lorraine to Zurich by automobile on a day that began with gloomy Lorraine skies but by lunchtime was Indian summer in late September in Alsace. I normally stop in Ribeauville at Au Relais des Menetriers outside of the old town at 10 Ave. Charles de Gaulle for lunch. But this... More

We arrived for lunch today and were very impressed with this restaurant. We travelled from Sydney Australia and were wanting some real quality French food. We were not disappointed. Fantastic service, great food with wine to accompany. We have been surprised with the amount of restaurants serving chips with a lot of meals and were happy that this was not the... More

This is a top restaurant in an unpretentious setting. We had the three course 28 Euro menu and it was excellent. The range of wine available is comprehensive and even though we ordered a half litre carafe of local Pinot Noir, it was poured from bottle to carafe at table and was from a good local producer. Menu focuses on... More

This was definitely one of the highlights of our time in Bergheim. We had the tasting menu (5 courses + amuse bouche) with matching wines. The food was solid and cleanly presented however it was the wine that was the highlight for us. For some courses we got to choose the wines (all were suppose to match the food, however... More

I love this place. Genuine, passionate and a great gastronomic experience. The suckling pork with crackling skin was to die for. It's sadly rare to find someone combining tradition and innovation like this, who actually master it. Amazingly personal touch on the service. This is no doubt a must when I go to Alsace, which I do from time to... More

Absolutely yes! Original Alsace style cuisine, nice english speeking service. Meal is perfect, winelist is wide scale of Alsace winemakers and includes even the iconic ones. Very nice silent yard behind the restaurant. Worth to visit.

we went here on a warm pre-summer day. this restaurant is right in one of those cute little alsacian towns. they have a very cosy courtyard which is perfect to enjoy a warm summer day's lunch. service was friendly, spoke english, could have been a little quicker, but overall pretty good. food was very nice, not extraordinary, but good value...
