The Jolly Coachman is an English Tudor style pub, well known for its great food and its atmosphere. Marilyn Sanders bought The Jolly Coachman on Ford Road eight years ago and has since dedicated her time to creating a menu that offers selection and quality. “I hang my hat on the food,” she says. “You can go anywhere for a beer. You can’t go anywhere for a great meal at a great price.”The menu boasts a mix between traditional pub fare and gourmet entrees featuring beef, chicken and seafood. There is a different food special every day of the week, including Prime Rib Fridays and New York Steak on the weekend. “I only buy the best beef, and the best produce and the best seafood that money can buy,” Sanders says. “I don’t cheap out on anything.” The Jolly Coachman also offers nightly drink specials. Customers can sip on a wide selection of local and imported drafts, bottled beers, wines, coolers and cocktails. The Jolly Coachman has undergone many changes since Sanders became owner including a new kitchen, bar, patio, and washrooms.“I’ve just about changed everything,” she says. However, throughout the renovations Sanders has maintained the pub’s cozy atmosphere. The interior still features exposed red brick walls, a large fireplace, wooden tables and street-lamp lighting fixtures.”It’s sort of your living room away from home,” says Sanders.“It’s just truly a neighbourhood pub where everyone knows everybody. It’s kind of like Cheers used to be.”Sports fans can watch every pay-per-view hockey game and UFC fight on one of the 34 flatscreen TVs in the pub.The Jolly Coachman also organizes bus trips to games in Vancouver. While sipping on an ice-cold pint, customers can try their luck at the gaming centre. The Jolly Coachman carries all B.C. Lottery products including 6-49, Super 7, Keno, Scratch & Win, and pull tabs, as well as Lotto Max and Knock Out 21.The pub opens every day for breakfast at 11 a.m. and closes at midnight Sunday through Thursday, and 1 a.m. on Friday and Saturday nights. Whether visiting for drinks or a meal customers will always find exceptional service, value and food at The Jolly Coachman.

Wings, wings, wings!

Thursday nights at the Jolly Coachmen; you can't beat the prices: Steak and fries for only $7.99 and wings (minimum purchase: 10) only 10 cents each. What? That's unreal; what's the catch? Well, the catch is: you must purchase a beverage. That means coffee, tea, alcohol...anything but water. My... read more

Such a disgusting place, I wouldn't suggest going unless you like horrible service and being treated like dirt then eventually throwing up the slop they call food. If our (noticeably drunk) waitress actually remembered to see us, she wouldn't basically get every single one of our orders wrong. Furthermore she would just neglect to bring drinks despite asking twice or... More

We have been here a few times and have always liked the food. The Wednesday pasta night can't be beat anywhere. I have had the burgers, chicken burger, beef dip, all delicious. They often have drinks on special as well. Apparently the pub is going to renovate so it will look nicer, but the staff are great and so is... More

The food is adequate for what you would expect and the prices are a slight bit higher then some other local pubs. The last two times we went (and our last) our servers were horrible, they are just plain rude and could not care less about customer service. If you get a drink be sure to make it last since... We have had dinner at the Coachman many, many times. The food is very consistent but the decor is really getting rundown. The chairs are very uncomfortable, the tables are sticky and wobbly and the carpet is so dirty, hard to tell the colour. I know its a pub, I know they dont need to try very hard as it... More

Classic pub food, good specials every day. Gets pretty busy on game nights so you have to get in early or reserve a table for over 4 people. The Sunday brunch is really good value too.
