Great coffee on a magical island

Do go to The Pantry for great coffees, especially the americanos, delicious home made cakes and teas. We also recommend the homemade white or brown loaves. These are pre ordered and are absolutely wonderful. It is great to have this service in the summer but amazing in February. Many thanks to... read more

I've spent a bit of time on Colonsay over the last year and the Pantry has served as my internet café and lunchtime hangout - they've provided me with some scrumptious lunches, served with luverly coffee and warm hospitality. Their fish dinners and quiz nights are well worth going along too. There is a nice vibe in the place with... More

The restaurateur bent over backwards to accommodate our needs. I wanted to visit on the fish night but her indoors was not in a fish mood that day so the owner made a pot of chicken curry just for her. I ordered a prawn cocktail for starters. Obligatory lettuce and marie rose sauce but the prawns where freshly cooked shell... More

My sons and I have just returned from a glorious week's holiday on the wonderful island of Colonsay. While there we booked an evening meal at the licensed restaurant, The Pantry, which has local seafood nights on a Wednesday and Thursday. We tried oysters for the first time, which were very fresh as they come from the island. The mussels... More

Seafood platters were good though the prawns were a bit overcooked. Kid's meals good value and they were happy. Wine was lovely and they didn't charge us for the kids' meals as we had to wait a while (not that we had noticed a particularly long wait). We sat outside in glorious summer weather and drank in the views. The... More

The pantry provides easy meals, homemade bread and pastry. We like it very much. The decoration is simple and fits well to the unique island.
