Family dining in 18th Century Ambiance

I reserved here for a birthday luncheon for my wife: we were 7 altogether, and I had reserved for 3 p.m. (a very typical hour for lunch in Spain). As our group were all coming from different directions, and at different times, I had to call them to advise that we would be a little late. “No... read more

This is one of the best restaurants in EL Escorial. It is an old Posada I believe; it has an small interior courtyard with stairs ascending around it to the rooms. The room we ate it was cosy, and there was a stove burning (it was January, and freezing outside). We had really delicious croquettas with our starter, as well... More

Great place to eat a little expensive perhaps, but you will not be dissapointed with the food. Staff very friendly. Looks very old inside which gives the restaurant its charm.

This is a beautiful inn built in 1768. You can check out the history, photos, info on their website. While it was very charming, cozy and a nice setting to have a meal, the food is very disappointing and not cheap for what it is. We had the fixed lunch menu that came with soup, cochinillo and a dessert. The... More

we went here with a friend from the town. The building is 250 years old and very colorful. The food was excellent, especially the gaspacho and trout.

We had a perfect day visiting El Escorial right when it opened until about 2pm, then over to La Cueva at 2:30pm for a 2 hour leisurely lunch. The building is soaked with atmosphere dating from 1768 or so and we had 3 attentive servers watching over us for the entire time. San Lorenzo is a royal getaway from Madrid... More

This places is not bad, but nothing special for the high prices it has.
