Good cuisine a bit expensive though. Nice location and interesting building. First courses are regular. Main courses are good.

Ok, so the waiters are a little slow, but we are great food in a gorgeous period building for a decent price. The "sopa castellana" is fantastic, and the house wine's good too.

Excellent food and service in a beautiful, historic building. La Cueva is nearly as old as the village of San Lorenzo itself, and is furnished with impressive period furniture. The food was amazing and the service impeccable. We will definitely go back!

The building (XVIII century) is impressive and transports the visitor to another time. Excellent tapas - there are not many options but very good. The house wine and the meet (chuleton de buey) fantastic !

We walked to La Cueva restaurant from El Escorial Monastery and were pleased to quickly be given a salad nicoise & fresh crusty bread. This was followed by roasted chicken with mushrooms (+ chips) and then original icecream and coffee. The waiters were helpful and friendly and, although a party of 36, we did not feel rushed.

This is one of the best restaurants in EL Escorial. It is an old Posada I believe; it has an small interior courtyard with stairs ascending around it to the rooms. The room we ate it was cosy, and there was a stove burning (it was January, and freezing outside). We had really delicious croquettas with our starter, as well... More

I reserved here for a birthday luncheon for my wife: we were 7 altogether, and I had reserved for 3 p.m. (a very typical hour for lunch in Spain). As our group were all coming from different directions, and at different times, I had to call them to advise that we would be a little late. “No problem, Sir, your... More

Great place to eat a little expensive perhaps, but you will not be dissapointed with the food. Staff very friendly. Looks very old inside which gives the restaurant its charm.

This is a beautiful inn built in 1768. You can check out the history, photos, info on their website. While it was very charming, cozy and a nice setting to have a meal, the food is very disappointing and not cheap for what it is. We had the fixed lunch menu that came with soup, cochinillo and a dessert. The... More
