I´ve been to El Charoles 2-3 times in my life, always for an important celebration, and it never lets you down. Ingredients are always top quality; they prepare the menu each week with what it´s available at the market. Ox meat in other restaurants is usually beef; here I bet is real ox. All traditional and all home made. Highlights:... More

Probably the best "cocido" in the world. And if you have never try any this is the right place to do it. Reservation is needed as "cocido" it is served only on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. The White Bacon from Verín is almost a good Foie. The Carrot and the Cabbage are exceptional. The "chorizo", the "cachelos", (gallegan potatoes) and... More

It was a meal full of meat in any version, I had a great meal. I loved the soup, the vegetables and the meat was ok (since I m not fun of meat ). Nice village and I would reccomend it to anybody that wants to eat something typical Spanish.

Charoles is known for the good meat they serve, and it's worth to go and taste it, But still it's a little bit pricy, In belgium you get this food at a better price. But as Charoles has always been known for their nice meat, go and taste it!

If you go to El Escorial to tour the royal castle and monastery built by King Philip II, you should definitely have lunch or dinner at Charoles. According to the Fodor's travel guide,"Some go to El Escorial for the monastery; others go for Charoles." We did both in July 2011. Sat outside on a glorious, windy summer day. The grilled... More

This restaurant is excellent. Service was not the best to rate (staff must be comprehensive with tourists) but great food helped to upgrade it. Walking distance from the Royal Palace so the atmosphere elevated the experience. We had a reservation and it saved us so i suggest to call few hours before...hope to be back soon in special at summer...recommended!!!

We were walking around just looking for a place with traditional Spanish food and it seemed that this restaurant was the right one. It is quite popular in the area because of the traditional dishes. In fact the "Cocido Madrileno", which I had, was tasty and it is served in a big portion. The service was ok but not very... More

We went to book a place ranked higher than this on TA and seeing no one there decided to walk around this lovely town and stumbled on Charoles. It was almost full outside on a balmy evening but they found us a table and the rest was pleasure. The maitre d who runs the front of house is very professional.... More
