Charming, Old-Fashioned and Excellent Food

Have dined here before a few years ago so had to go back during an overnight stop in Aranjuez. Meet at the door by the owner who is absolutely charming. Very poor service. The waiter saw us right from the beginning, as we were the only table and after 10 minutes waiting not even a menu or an excuse. We had to leave as the kids were getting hungry. When we left I told the bar man what had happened. He was not surprised!

We came across this place on a quiet mid-week lunchtime. At the outside tables were a group of obviously local people, always a good sign. While we were reading the outside menu, the elderly owner came out and provided a man in English. We decided to eat outside under the shade of the trees. The food was good, especially the... More

This is a place full of bullfighting history, the atmosphere is very unique and the restaurant has been operating since 1941. The prices are average high but the quality is very good. Good wine list.

We stumbled on this bar, and saw the good selection of whiskies. Stayed for a couple of drinks, then tapas and wines. Very good jamon and cheese. There was an excellent young man tending bar, and we were looked after the best. It was mid week so probably a little quiet, but we really enjoyed our evening.

Once again staying in Aranjuez so chose the Restaurant Casa Pablo. This is a very typical Spanish restaurant. You enter via the bar to the restaurant which opens for business at 9pm. Bull fighting theme photos everwhere. Good meal but perhaps a trifle expensive.

We love Spain and are delighted with the way their restaurants have upped their game. But this one is really poor. We had the worst food I can recall here. My wife's meal was a weird cheese starter followed by a salad that was so acetic it was not edible. Mine was some tuna with peppers. It looked unappetising but... More

Traditional is ok but this place was old fashioned. Food was expensive and conservative. I'm sure it could do better with a bit of thought Expensive euro40/person no wine

I was invited to this restaurant for lunch by a customer who lives in Aranjuez which is prhaps a 35 minute drive from Madrid on the weekends. Tipical spanish style restaurant where you can have some drinks and tapas on the low floor and then follow up with lunch or dinner at the table. Based on the menú I noticed... More

Travelling on my own by bike, I had the good fortune to bump into this place. The interior is dark and rustic but full of chatty Spaniards, and the small terrace area on the street is pleasant and shady. I ordered an almond fish dish that was surprisingly light and flavourful, accompanied by a Galician white wine. The service was... More
