We stumbled on this bar, and saw the good selection of whiskies. Stayed for a couple of drinks, then tapas and wines. Very good jamon and cheese. There was an excellent young man tending bar, and we were looked after the best. It was mid week so probably a little quiet, but we really enjoyed our evening.

Once again staying in Aranjuez so chose the Restaurant Casa Pablo. This is a very typical Spanish restaurant. You enter via the bar to the restaurant which opens for business at 9pm. Bull fighting theme photos everwhere. Good meal but perhaps a trifle expensive.

We love Spain and are delighted with the way their restaurants have upped their game. But this one is really poor. We had the worst food I can recall here. My wife's meal was a weird cheese starter followed by a salad that was so acetic it was not edible. Mine was some tuna with peppers. It looked unappetising but... More

Traditional is ok but this place was old fashioned. Food was expensive and conservative. I'm sure it could do better with a bit of thought Expensive euro40/person no wine

I was invited to this restaurant for lunch by a customer who lives in Aranjuez which is prhaps a 35 minute drive from Madrid on the weekends. Tipical spanish style restaurant where you can have some drinks and tapas on the low floor and then follow up with lunch or dinner at the table. Based on the menú I noticed... More

Travelling on my own by bike, I had the good fortune to bump into this place. The interior is dark and rustic but full of chatty Spaniards, and the small terrace area on the street is pleasant and shady. I ordered an almond fish dish that was surprisingly light and flavourful, accompanied by a Galician white wine. The service was... More

Excellent restaurant with a bull fight theme. Photos of Matadors everywhere. All the staff are very friendly. The waiters are all 50+ and wear white jackets. The owner, who must be 70/80 took our order. Everything was just right and the meal was excellent. A very pleasant evening.

Not disappointed - still the same lovely atmosphere. They even remembered us from our previous visit.Excellent food and service with David the head waiter as charming as ever. With so many food outlets in Spain this little bar/restaurant really gives you a feeling of authentic originality. If you expect a 12 Euro 'Menu... OK, the service was stressed because we visited on the 30th May, when the fiesta is in town and this bullfighting bar is full of fans. We had a drink at the downstairs bar first. A beer and a wine came to under 3 euros, which took me by surprise since I'd been paying Madrid prices for the previous week.... More

Casa Pablo has been there since 1941 and is strong on atmosphere, with its white-jacketed waiters and bullfighting memorabilia covering the walls. The limited menu is doubtless true to tradition, i.e., it consists mainly of meat. I ordered the classic dish cochinillo, and received a generous hunk of baby pig with leg (and little hoof!) attached - no doubt properly... More
