Wonderful oasis...

I think that if you were not looking for Almagro, you might not find it. But it was well worth the adventure getting there. Thank you GPS. Our room in this lovely Parador was charming. Our dinner there was delicious. We had wandered the main square in the afternoon, had a tapas and beer and... read more

Staying one night in the parador, we ate dinner in the restaurant. Very pleasant, helpful and knowledgable waiter who assisted with our wine choice. Lovely setting in the outside courtyard with water features. Regional tapas starter excellent. All other courses good, albeit with overly large portions. Very impressed.

If you are a habitual visitor to Paradores you will know that most are historic monument that have been taken over by the state, restored and converted into good quality hotels. In this case, an old convent has become a 4 star hotel and, as always, the restaurant is synonymous with quality. The menu is not as extensive as in... More

Great place to eat, in the old monastery Parador. Service is good, food is good but not excellent, but the price is fairly good, with a proposed menu for 32 €, worth a visit in Almagro.

Two couples ate dinner. Everyone had a really good meal. The service was excellent. The price, as best I can recall, was in line with expectations and the quality of the food.

Lunch and Dinner are both served in the light, bright and airy restaurant which looks out onto a pretty inner courtyard. The restaurant serves traditional La Mancha cuisine and there are gluten free, vegetarian and diabetic options which have been standard in all the Paradors we stayed in. Some of the traditional dishes appear to have an Arabic influence from... More

Hotels are hotels so it is good to find something very slightly different. Great setting, nice rooms, perfectly good restaurant and nice pool. If you want to get away from 4/5 star square box hotels the Paradors are different. This is a converted convent with fascinating corridors, furniture and courtyards. We would go back.

We were not staying at the Parador and when the Maitre de knew this he lost interest. Wine was late, table setting and service was sloppy. That said, the regional mixed starter was excellent.

Although we were not staying at this Parador, we did eat here and had one of the best meals of our trip. We opted for the 3 course local seasonal menu - great value at around 22 euros, and they were willing to substitute a pork dish with a lovely chicken with saffron and almond dish. The asparagus soup was... More

Our food was excellent, served by good waiters who recommended good wines. Altogether a great night.
