We were looking for a local breakfast place in McKinney and this is the place. I had the Ribeye and Eggs and it was worth the price of admission! Eggs are eggs but the meats were make the plate and they were very good, great flavors!

Old time blue plate cafe that serves breakfast and lunch at a very good price. Bill even pitches in in the kitchen when needed. Great food.

These folks must be doing something right to have been in business since 1956. They are by bringing down home cooking to the people of McKinney. They are famous for their breakfast featuring eggs, breakfast meat, French toast or pancakes. Everything was good although the service was a bit slow but the place was packed on a week day morning.

So when you enter a country roadhouse style restaurant in Texas what do you expect? I expect a casual atmosphere, friendly service, and a huge plate full of traditional southern food. I'd say Bills only accomplished 1 out of 3, the casual atmosphere. The service was ok, but not prompt and without much follow up. The food was very disappointing.... More

I enjoyed friendly service, and that's the best I can say. Floors were littered with food, wrappers, used napkins, everywhere. Menus were so dirty I didn't want to use them. Seat fabric was torn except on the wooden chairs. French toast undercooked and soggy. Venue does not accept credit cards.

Bill smiths is a local favorite and destination that has been in business for around 50 years. Consistency is key for bills place and it shows that every customer is important to him. The food is good and exactly what you would expect from a well established, iconic diner.

We finally tried this after having heard about it for awhile. Very good option for breakfast. It was fast and friendly with really good pancakes. It says they close at noon but on Sunday's they stay open a little later so stop by for a good meal.

We eat breakfast here about once a month. Food excellent. Try the Papa Smith, Triple Breakfast sandwich or an omelet. Great wait staff, old style food and fun. You'll enjoy it. Now the downside: overcrowded they have expanded as for as they can go and the place is packed most mornings. This makes it a little tough on the wait... More

Been eating here 50 years. Believe it or not, gets better every time I visit. Big portions, cooked to perfection, great prices, at a hometown legend. Doesn't get better than this!
