I share others' enthusiasm for House.wine Bistro. Been here 4 or 5 times in the past 3 years, and am always impressed. All staff serve all tables so every staff member is committed to helping you. imagine- they are actually looking to catch your eye to see if you need anything instead of avoiding you in you are not in... I was looking for a title for this review...in the end, speechless seems the best. From the moment you are greeted, the nice decoration, the friendliness of the staff, the superb food and impeccable service, dining here is an experience by itself! On the dishes, we tried brie, pork burgers, risotto, wine....all recommended by the staff and never pushing for... More

Really enjoy this restaurant. A nice oasis in the Valley. Quality ingredients, diverse menu, and great service. Always nice atmosphere and service. Have grass fed locally sourced beef and wide selection of wines and beers. Must eat here when in McAllen.

In our journey to try restaurants in the Rio Grande Valley, we stopped at House Wine and Bistro. This restaurant is owned by the same people who own Salt which we loved. We had no trouble finding seating (we were early). We enjoyed the food and sitting in the front by the window (watching the traffic go by). We tried... More

Awesome, awesome meal! Had the Butternut Squash Risotto with a Hard Pear Cider and a Caesar Salad. Normally, I don't like foodie restaurants on business. It just isn't my style. I generally cook for myself at home and like meat/potatoes. This restaurant was warm and friendly. Food was wonderful. Had a local musician playing too. Really surprised. I've never been... More

Amazing food, service, decor - just fantastic, I love coming here. The greeter is such a sweet guy, I'm just so embarrassed that I've forgotten his name. It's been too long since I've been back to McAllen. Fresh water is served in a beautiful carafe. The choices of wines and drinks is amazing. The servers are not servers, they are... More

The menu is delicious and the service is a good attempt at fine dining. The waiters were trying a little too hard and became a little annoying. The best service is characterized by always being there when I want something, but being invisible when I'm trying to have an intimate conversation. This wait staff is not there yet, The only... Another favorite place, fancy, fun and pure deliciousness. First off Tinchos are a must. Moscato, ice and a Valley lemon is my favorite. Flatbreads are divine, my favorites are the pesto and prosciutto. I must say the duck confit is also a fave.

The menu is so fresh. No wonder, the owner/chef has won awards and you can tell at the variety of flavors and the excellence of service. The lamb is exceptional, but the appetizers and cheeses are wonderful if you just want to stop by for some wine.
