Took my mom here for her birthday, not only did the food taste amazing but it looked beautiful! The waiter was very attentive and brought a beautiful dessert for my mom!

As always, you can find this lovely place at: Latitud: 26°12'9.21"N Longitud: 98°14'16.67"W The place is on the street where all the bars and night places are on Downtown Mcallen. There is plenty of space to park and as far as I looked, there is nothing to be afraid, as far as I concern about security. I went with my... More

There were 4 of us dining. The shrimp brochette was good as well as presentation. Shrimp tacos and the tacos a la plancha were only ok. The huachinango was inedible! Sent it back and chef insisted there really wasn't anything wrong with it but did take it off bill. Restaurant was empty. Wish we would've known what they knew.

I travel all over the world and have dined in more restaurants than I can count. Never would I have expected one of my most delicious dinners would be found in McAllen, Texas! Fridas Grill & Cantina is a true gem. From start to finish everything I tasted was perfectly prepared. The menu offers a myriad of options to delight... More

Love this place, I went there back in March and everything was perfect, live music, cocktails, food, attention from the owners. A+

We had a delightful meal and time at Frieda's. The atmosphere, hospitality and food were all excellent. We travel around Texas and like to try local restaurants. In our experience, not everyone can cook a medium rare steak. Frieda's certainly knows how to not only pick a good cut of meat, but they also know how to season and cook... More

It's a great dining experience, since the moment you walk in the atmosphere takes you to a whole other place than the street you just walked in from, makes you feel like you're stepping in a whole different city. The service is up to par since you walk in you're greeted and treated with respect and attention, the staff was... More

I just went to Frida's last weekend to celebrate my birthday, and it was amazing!!! The food was delicious, everyone in my party (of 15) was very happy with it. The staff was very friendly and attentive. We also stayed for the live band afterwards, which by the way was fantastic! As were the DRINKS!!! I highly recommend to anyone... More

What should have been an amazing celebration, turned out to be a huge embarrassment. We were the only party in the restaurant. And they still couldn't serve us in a timely manner. The owner and wait staff made excuse after excuse. Instead of an apology they chose to blame one guest for arriving late and another excuse was that their... More

This is McAllen's best kept secret for a quite and romantic dinner, especially if you go early evening. The food is absolutely exquisite with flavors that are delectable to the palate. Staff is very attentive to customer's needs. So happy we found this restaurant.
