We ate lunch here, on a week day, and there was a good crowd, but no waiting time. The prices were very reasonable. I had the Thursday special of barbecue pork ribs with baked beans, potato salad, and Texas toast. The ribs were great, but the potatoes salad was drier and blander than I like. The beans and toast were... More

Stopped in Marshall for the evening and checked out TA for supper ideas. I was initially intrigued by catfish express but after seeing a few reviews and also seeing that I could get both BBQ and catfish at porky's I settled on porky's. What a great choice. Catfish was some of the best I've had and the price was right.... More

Passing through coming home from a cruise, this place was recommended. Glad we stopped. The catfish was absolutely some of the best I've eaten. Perfectly fried! My wife had the chicken platter. Another wow factor. The treat was the fish battered and fried biscuit, yes, I said "battered and fried" biscuit. OMG! If ever in Marshall, Tx you have to... More

At 5:30pm we were seated. Whwn the waitress came to take our order she said " We don't got no meat" I said you're kidding right, this is a BBQ place. She said no, we don't got no beef, no pork, no ribs, no chicken" I said what do you have she said ham and cheese and fish. We left.... More

Have to tell you that Porky's has the best fish on Friday nights. Hard to believe coming from a BBQ place. If I had to say anything negative I would say the fries are always over cooked or we get leftover fries. I love the fish and the BBQ. And possible the best Sweet Tea.

We went for the catfish based upon a recommendation from a staff member at our hotel. the location was also very good since it was just a short distance away. The restaurant is an informal place so don't dress for the meal. Ordered the one piece catfish after the waitress advised it would be large piece. Substituted the french fries... More

My husband enjoyed the food. I wanted to go back home towards Roanoke, TX for better BBQ. I ordered chopped beef and he finished the last few bites for me. The onion rings were really good. The fries were the ones that are frozen and fried. The smoked chicken sandwich, we were expecting sliced chicken, but a small piece of... More
