We decided to eat here because it was very close to our hotel and it looked cute when we walked by. The interior is nice, but I was surprised that there are no pieces of art or graphics on the wall. The temperature was really hot in the restaurant too. When we saw the prices on the menu, I wanted... more

I read the reviews about Maiya's before we went to Marfa. My fiance' and I were looking for a nice place to have a yummy dinner after spending a week backpacking and camping in Big Bend. I was skeptical of Maiya's (price and quality of food) after reading some of the reveiws, but we decided to try it out anyway.... more

Three of us from the Austin area ate at Maiya's earlier this week, and it was a great experience. We walked down from the Paisano Hotel and, even though we hadn't made reservations, were seated quickly. We had no problems with the staff, who were prompt, knowlegeable, friendly, and attentive. The food is outstanding! Our meal included salads, entrees, and... more

Hands down, the most beautiful dining space in Far West Texas. My husband and I go there often and the menu changes seasonally reflecting what is available and fresh. The drinks are made with fresh-squeezed juices (try the margarita!) and there is a great wine selection. There are always a few pasta dishes on the menu along with grilled fish... more

I showed up late one night expecting them to be closing or at least disgruntled with my late arrival. Neither was the case. Unlike some of the other reviewers here I had fantastic service. Note, I sat at the bar, so I can't compare the service there with the rest of the dining room. The food was delicious (I had... more

Terrible, terrible customer service. Food is good - BUT - waaaay over priced. Maiya herself was extremely rude to us, especially considering we had 35 people with us! Evidentally the entire town of Marfa knows about the bad customer service here, but we only found out AFTER our horrible experience. Would I recommend this place? Only if you have money... more

This place was very mediocre, with the kind of service you would expect from a bustling cheap diner, not a half-empty fine dining establishment. Our server could not have cared less about us. The restaurant itself is really loft and open, which also means that it is cold and very loud and echoing. The wine list leaves something to be... more

We go here very often. It's really, really good food, but WAYYYYY to expensive for the middle Texas. It's outrageous! I think they charge you $4 for a little TINY glass of coke. That's how expensive they are. more

Actually we haven't raised the price on the soft drinks for 7 years and they are priced at $2.

My husband and I ate at Maiya's in Marfa during a recent trip to the Big Bend. The prices were outrageous for the restaurant's quality of food. When I opened the menu and saw that a plate of vegetables cost $26, I thought that was a little steep for West Texas, but was willing to hope for the best. Bad... more

Excellent cocktails, modern yet comfortable decor, affordable wine list. The vodka pasta is heavenly as are the profiteroles. If you're in West Texas, don't miss it! Has a new website, too: http://www.maiyasrestaurant.com/ more
