The Food Shark is a mobile kitchen parked under a large canopy on the main drag in downtown Marfa. Long wooden tables sprawl under the shade, occupied by tourists, local residents, and many of the refugees from the 1960s who inhabit Marfa. A kid singing and playing guitar provided entertainment as you wait about half an hour for the gent... More

We stopped in at the recommendation of a UC Berkeley teacher, writer/translator and temporary Marfa resident we met camping near the Rio Grande...you do meet the coolest folks down there. The first item on the menu, a falafel hummus wrap was to die for. I don't usually eat much, but I took down that whole thing. We still crave the... More

My husband and I ate here on a Saturday at lunch time. I had the Marfalafel which included 3 falafel balls with lettuce, cucumber, tomato and hummus, served on top of a flour tortilla. My husband had a salad with quinoa, sliced tomatoes and flatbread. We both agreed that our lunches were yummy and perfectly hit the spot. I also... More

All the 5 star reviews are right. The food is freshly prepared on the spot. I had the delicious marfalafel. The young man taking the order asked if I wanted it with hummus. As I had never had it before, I didn't know. He said, "Trust me, you do." He was right. The truck arrived at noon underneath the large... More

good food, cool surroundings. Lots of people the day we were there. there isn't that much choice in marfa for eating good and different food at lunch. Good food coming out of a trailer / rv, with the manager shouting out your name in hipsteroo language. worth a visit. Lots of wasps nearby taht day (?!), left 5 of them... More

The first 5 items of the Food Shark menu are vegetarian. That says something. I asked for a recommendation and the top seller is the Felafel wrap. Fresh with wonderful favors, I really enjoyed the crunch of this tasty wrap which was generously sized. Great, friendly service complete with megaphone announcement for pick-up service. The location under the pavilion is... More

Famed - everybody says to go there. We agree. But, expect to wait , outdoors under a canopy for your food, as tourists flock to it. Lunch time only. Good food, campy experience worth having.

In the midst of the dust and wind of Marfa, the Food Shark was an oasis. Sitting under a large tin awning with really big wooden tables, we could enjoy looking out a 'the big city' of Marfa. The food was delicious...My husband got the turkey sandwich; I got the special burrito - that had everything on it but the... More

This is the second time in as many trips as we ate at the Food Shark. They have a limited menu- but everything on it is good. Last time we got the hummus plate - delicious. This time I got the veggie burrito special and my husband got the pork tacos. Both were amazing. Real Mexican Cokes topped it off.... More
