Surprise, Surprise!

We were in Texas visiting friends who took us to this place during our visit with them. Very nice place with good food and service. Good for family and friendly get together. Able to talk with friends at our table without shouting over music or background chatter of dishes being cleared. Loved... read more

Good food, good service! For lunch I was lucky enough that there were 2 biscuits left from breakfast. Scrambled eggs, biscuits with cream gravy! Oh, almost forgot the grits! My friend had the special which was turkey and dressing. It looked great. I have eaten there several times over the years; never disappointed. Some folks go just for the homemade... More

Had to stand in line at 3 PM. Food was very good. Service was quick and friendly. The quantity of food was very large. Wife and I should have split a meal. The cost was very low considering the amount of food. The chicken fried steak was very tasty. The smoked chicken special was very good. The bread was quite... More

Famous restaurant. Maybe expected too much. Food was really good. Service not so much. we had to wait about 20 minutes in a very small hallway. Waitress not very attentive. Gave us wrong ticket for meal. Had to tell her. Pie huge meringue but too sweet for me. Also very loud that night. Would probably eat at more modern restaurant.

Stopping in Marble Falls we were told we had to visit the Blue Bonnet Cafe. Well believe everything you have ever heard. The place was packed at 2:30 in the afternoon, but once we were seated, we were greeted by a very friendly server. My wife and I shared the hot pot roast sandwich. It was delicious, tender, great flavor... More

We had been told by several people THIS was the place to eat. Home cooking and a great atmosphere. Well, we did not have a great experience and we are sad by that because we won't ever go back. No matter how great the food is, when the server yells at you right off of the bat, it's not a... More

Visited the Blue Bonnet Cafe shortly after 1 PM on a Wednesday and had to stand in line for 20 minutes. Great down home atmosphere with very friendly employees. On plate lunches you get the main course plus three sides, which makes for a very filling meal. My wife had the small Chicken Fried Steak with mashed red potatoes, okra,... More

We drove about 1 1/2 hours from shopping in San Marcus to Marble Falls to enjoy the roadside bluebonnets and make "Pie Happy Hour" because we heard the pies were delicious. The pies were delicious! We tried cherry & coconut meringue with coffee for $4 during happy hour. There was a short wait for a table because the café seems... More

Having eaten here in years past, we were glad to time it out to eat lunch here. Tuesday is chicken and dumplings day. It was a full piece of baked breast and leg sitting in top of a serving of dumplings. Very strange. Cornbread and rolls were just not that great. Chicken tenders were tough. Best thing we had was...
