I always see this place packed, and finally decided to see if it was really good, or if it was merely a tourist trap. I ordered a simple hamburger, and was not impressed with the thin pre-fab patty. The bread was toasted nicely, and the veggies on it were fresh. The fries were average, and not crisp. Service was very... More

This place knocked it out of the park! We had pot roast, hot beef sandwich , chicken fried steak and club sandwiches. The food was crazy good, the service was fast and friendly. This is a place where the employees take pride in their job and it showed! A must on any bucket list!

Ducked in around 5:00 p.m. on a Saturday. Ordered the pot roast. Came with 3 sides + a corn bread muffin + a roll. Got the buttered spinach, baby carrots, and mashed potatoes. Pot roast had brown gravy and the potatoes white. Portions were generous! I couldn't eat everything. All for $9 (pre-tax or tip.) Drink was extra. I think,... More

Stopped for morning pie and coffee in "local joint" with busy parking lot, but the plates we saw on the way to our booth looked so good we ordered breakfast! (We had already done the plastic, flavorless motel breakfast--oh, well!) The pancakes were light and fluffy, bacon was cooked perfectly, eggs were REAL and beautifully scrambled, hash browns were also... More

The meals we had were home-cooked and we appreciate that. The service was very friendly and very fast. My pot roast was tasty and tender, but the gravy was too salty. the red skin mashed potatoes were perfect. The spinach was canned or over done, but a generous portion and nice flavor. The tossed salad was small, but fresh ingredients.... More

An 86 year old Texan tradition of a restaurant, down home cooking. We came for the chicken fried steak which came with corn Brad with corn in it and three sides. We went for the chicken gumbo soup, red potatoes, fried okra, Italian green beans and butter carrots. All Five Spoons as their lemon pie with fresh whipped cream (they... More

I went in thinking I would get breakfast but the other meals sounded so good I just had to go for it. Apparently the chicken fried steak is one of their top sellers and since I make one mean chicken fried steak myself, I had to give it a try. Perfect. Nice breading, not an overkill. Potatoes, real and creamy.... More

This cafe is homecooking at it's best! It has a culture of it's own, with an old-timey diner feel and staff that make you feel at home. Definitely a must if you're in Marble Falls! Yes, there will likely be a line out the door, but it moves quickly and it's worth trying at least once to get the experience.
