I read the reviews to know where to go, and they were right !! Such a hopping lil mom and pop place. Very nice people, the food was very hot and good. The pie looked exceptional !! So I had to have a bite of the coconut cream, man it was excellent !! People were coming in there just to... More

I was on a trip by myself and hadn't been to the Bluebonnet in many years. Decided to check it out. Sat at the bar, was warmly welcomed by the waitress there. She was great! Met the people around me and had fun conversations. A casual environment, but there's a method to the madness, even during peak hours. I had... More

My hubby and I stopped by the cafe on our way home from horseshoe bay.The food was good but did not meet the expectations set by previous reviews. Also we bought a whole lemon meringue to go and was very unimpressed. It is still sitting in our fridge with only two pieces eaten. The service was good and they were... More

I am not much of a sweet eating kinda gal, so I cannot speak for the pies. I can tell you that they a very pretty. As for food, it is reminiscent of my granny's kitchen. The veggie plate filled me up when I needed something light, and knew it was the last meal of the drive. I have always... More

We stopped by two times for dessert. We went between 3-5pm for the "pie happy hour", when prices are discounted. Everything was delicious, including a thick chocolate shake that my daughter got, that was served in a big metal cup that kept it icy cold! We got pecan, peanut butter, lemon cream, coconut cream, fudge, and german chocolate. All were... More

Food was OK. I had chicken fried steak and it was good. Vegetables were nothing special. The pie was good, but in my opinion did not live up to it's reputation of being so great. But all that said, the price was right, good value. An average experience overall.

Line was out the door but we didn't wait long to be seated. Service was excellent- everyone seemed to be in a good mood. Food came fast. Pie was the best. Prices were cheap. Just a fun little place.

Don't let the line stop you. They seat you quickly and get to your order right away. The food is your average diner fair, but the real reason to visit is the pie. Have a slice for dessert and buy a whole pie to take with you.

Great diner food. Breakfast served all day. Wonderful country fried steak and gravy. But the pies are too die for. 6 inch thick meringue on top of perfect chocolate, coconut or banana custards. Creme versions also wonderful. The food was great and filling but those pies...

The line was out the door, but we waited only about 15 minutes for a table. A couple of us enjoyed the turkey dinner and the others had burgers. The food was good, the service was fast, efficient and friendly! And like everyone says save room for pie! Our family of 8 each enjoyed a different kind and none of... More
