Just north of San Antonio, at the edge of the Texas Hill Country, sits the small community of Leon Springs. Founded in the 1800s by Max Aue, Leon Spring's cityscape changed when Max's son, Rudolph, opened a one-stop gas station, garage, and grocery store. Bar-B-Q was added to the operation in 1989, and Rudy's "Country Store" and Bar-B-Q has been serving up tasty food ever since. The same original recipes that built Rudy's Leon Springs' reputation are now available throughout the Southwest. Our pits are 100% wood fired with oak, a slower burning wood than the mesquite used by others. Along with time and oak, we cook with a dry spice that ensures each plate of Rudy's Bar-B-Q is perfectly ready for you. Apply some of our famous "Sause" and dinner is served.

Quick and Delicious

I have eaten here a few times now when visiting family in Lubbock. The bbq is very good. They have several options for sauce as well as a fixin's bar with onions, pickles, etc. It's walk up and order service and seat yourselves. Reasonable prices.

Menu offers typical BBQ fare. Chicken, ribs, pork, brisket and sausage. We had chicken, brisket and sausage. The chicken was very good indeed. There was WAY too much fat left on the brisket and the sausage was just so so at best. They don't offer plates (paper or otherwise). You eat on a large piece of paper. Prices were high... More

Stopped at Rudy's, on my way home. Ordered the ribs, which were cut in front of me. Picked up some beans and desert from their warmer. Paid, and proceeded to picnic tables. Went to drink machine, and picked up onions, pickles at condiment bar. I really should have left, then and there! Ribs were dry and tough, beans were cold... More

The brisket is good, and I mean good. The sides are a bit weak. The sauce is great and worth the money. A bit on the pricey side at $38 for meat 2 small sides and 2 small desserts. Saying that, I would pay it again if I was in Lubbock.

Rudy's is my favorite BBQ period. Always fresh, great meat, great sides, and unreal cobbler. I've heard their breakfast burritos are great too but I haven't tried them.

Wonderful BAR-B-Q spot without a doubt. Had lunch selection of extra lean brisket and turkey. Delicious, fresh and tasty. Service was great and very pleasant. Even though I was a novice attending young lady provided me samples and walked me through process. Definitely recommend and will return.

The meat here is delicious! It's at a little gas station, general store type situation. There are picnic benches where you can sit and eat and watch TV. Like most of these bar-b-Que type places, the meats are expensive, but they are really good. The pork ribs are wonderful, and the turkey is really good, too. It's tasty and quite... More

I like this Lubbock location better than the one in Arizona. For some reason the meat always tastes better and is not as dry.
