I visit Lubbock once a year and I love this restaurant. I don't often get good TEXMEX and this place fits the bill. Good food, great service and decent prices!!!

As a pescatarian who doesn't eat dairy, I often end up with rather bland Mexican dishes. However, after a friendly and talkative host seated me at my table, my waiter was quick to visit my table and get my drink order. The chips and salsa, which came out quickly, are very good - three different salsas, including a tomatillo-based one... More

Excellent service, potatoes are my favorite. The patio does not open until around 4pm. Our group wanted to enjoy a Saturday outside.

Abuelo's is always outstanding food as well as service. There is always a waiting line so try and arrive early in the afternoon. I have never had a poorly prepared meal at this restaurant. I'm sure yours will be outstanding as well.

Abuelo's is great great Tex-Mex. Some of their dishes are unique and not like a typical Mexican restaurant. The Durango burritos are out of this world....the roasted meat inside is wonderful. Service can be a bit slow when they are busy.

Abuelos has the Best salsa and chips and the Queso is indescribable. In my opinion there is no other place in Lubbock for great Mexican food. We always have great service and friendly servers. We go at least every other Saturday night and I even manage a lunch in between most of the time.

I've had lots of good Mexican food at Santa Fe where I work most. But my 2 favorite things are still at Abuelo's. Unusual to have avacado piping hot in an enchilada, but it's tasty. And their stuffed shrimp fajitas are my other favorite. Everything is better wrapped in bacon :)

Abuelo's has always had good food, but the service is notoriously slow. However, if you want a good band on a Friday afternoon, don't miss out on their courtyard. They have a good swirl margarita; decent food, and it's reasonably priced. It's not overly kid-friendly (mostly because it's slow and there is an older crowd) but if you're with your... More

They have high quality food and margaritas at moderate prices. Friendly service and laid back atmosphere that's both family friendly and a great place for a date night with my husband. I definitely would like to check out the patio on a weekend...sounds like it is a blast!

We were told this was great and sit on the patio. It was closed due to wind I presume. We passed through a nice room with a lovely fountain. We were seated in a back room with a large group already seated. Our server came and took our drink order and more or less apologized he had to take the... More
