They got new salsa dishes. The trio of bowls of salsa have been replaced by this stupid little divided dish that has about a tablespoon of each type of salsa. I can't believe they cheaped out like this. Lubbock unite and make them change it back!

If you ever run out of salsa, just let your waiter know. Chips and salsa are bottomless, so we'd be more than happy to give you a refill! Best, Brad GM More

We're staying in Lubbock for about 6 months and went to eat on Wednesday......It was wonderful, the atmosphere, server and food. We enjoyed every aspect of our experience. The food came out hot and was very filling. We will go back quite often while we're here.

Traveling through Texas and found Abuelo's in Lubbock. 1st I want to mention the Service. Everyone we met was smiling i.e., wait staff , bus boys, managers...they proved attentive, courteous, knowledgeable. The lunches & appetizers are Great! Standouts included Guacamole, Chili con Queso, Salsas particularly the Tomatillo w/ Cilantro & Pineapple. Be sure to try the Papas, Pinto Beans, Green... More

Since this is the original Abuelo's in Lubbock, we decided to check it out. It was excellent Tex Mex. No complaints. It was busy on a Friday night but we snagged a table in the bar and got excellent service.

My husband and I had lunch this week at Abuelo's. At one o'clock in the afternoon we had to wait about fifteen minutes. Busy lunch crowd. I order the Tilapia special which had shrimp, scallops and baked Tilapia served with a special rice and mixed veggies. A low calories special that tasted delicious. Love the chips and salsa... the best... More

Food was okay but to expensive for average tasting food Also had to wait to eat dessert as our waiter said there were no clean spoons,REALLY! I thought he was kidding but he was serious.

We're so sorry you had to wait to eat dessert. This is highly unusual for us, but due to a huge, unexpected rush, we went through a high volume of utensils very quickly. I hope you didn't have to wait too long. Also, we're very sorry you thought the food to be average. We cook to impress around here, so... More

I came in to Abuelo's as a second choice, no offence, because my first choice which was more of an authentic mexican fare was a little far away. I was told it would be 45 minutes for a table for one but got a spot at the bar. My server was very knowledgeable about the menu and the drinks and... More

I've eaten at 100's of Mex restaurants throughout the Southwest and this is the holy grail. The food is special and not your typical boring middle of the road flavor. If you want hot, or spicy, or mild with great presentation. Every time I've been there its been lines of people in and lines going out. You may not totally... More

When I walked in,I could immediately smell frog insides!! Being a biology teacher, I don't think this is very nutritious for the community to be consuming. Please fix this or I will make sure to open my own frog taco restaurant as competition. Thank you.

Being a biology teacher, I'm sure you are aware that frogs are are indeed very nutritious. The frog, especially the legs, are very low in Saturated Fat. They are also a good source of Thiamin, Riboflavin, Iron, Phosphorus, Potassium and Copper! YUM. However, regardless of their nutrition, I can assure you that our place is very much amphibian free.
