Real Mexican food is a feast for the senses. From colorful peppers to the sounds of sizzling fajitas all the way to that incredible flavor. Each mouthful is just as much a result of the freshest ingredients as it is a result of the chef's expertise. Abuelo's offers diners the opportunity to experience real Mexican food, combining authentic, made from scratch classic dishes with the rich, subtle flavors of coastal and interior Mexican cuisine. Our executive Chef Luis Sanchez has spent decades perfecting our menu, and we boast a wide selection of wood-grilled fajitas, enchiladas, tacos, chile rellenos or Abuelo's unique House Specialties (depending on your location). To compliment your meal, our expert bartenders are masters at crafting signature favorites, including a wide variety of margaritas and swirls. Whatever the occasion, we'll stop at nothing to make your time at Abuelo's a memorable dining experience.

The food was delicious. Good drinks. Try the appetizer sampler that comes with queso and different salsas! We had to wait an hour to be seated, so make reservations!

Abuelos exceeds all dining experiences in Lubbock. extensive menu and I have never had a meal that was not well made. I have eaten at Abuelos atleast 100 times over the years. I have desperately searched in Lubbock for a better experience and I assure you it does not exist. Price irrelevant Abuelos tops all restaurants in Lubbock.

Some friends of ours came to visit us from Wisconsin and wanted to eat some Mexican food.. We all decided that we would go to Abuelo's. We went fairly early as they usually get very busy. We arrived at about six thirty and had about a 10 minute wait. We were seated and were able to enjoy some very delicious... More

If you are looking for upscale Mexican food you got it. In my opinion it's a bit over priced but the food is good. Great for date night.

Sorry to hear you think we're a little over-priced, Jennilue. We do our best to get you a great deal and still cook with the best ingredients available to us! Despite that, we really love that you left us this glowing review. It really means so much to us, so thank you! Best, Brad GM More

Always have to wait for a table - even with just two of us for lunch. The food is good and always plentiful. Servers are super busy, sometimes hard to catch for a refill of drinks or salsas. Overall it's uaually a good experience if you can get past the initial wait.

I'm so sorry to hear you always have to wait when you come in! If you don't mind a little earlier dinner -- or coming in on the week days -- we usually don't have much of a crowd at all then. Anyways, I'm thrilled you've had great food and great times here with us. We hope to see you... More

Outstanding and Mexican cuisine. Their "papas" (spicy mashed potatoes) are unique and delicious and replace both rice and beans for us. We like the variety of salsa dishes (which they gladly refill), and the queso is excellent on anything. Rodney is a long-time employee and seats us graciously at every visit.

Stan, glad to hear you've been loving all our food from the papas to the queso. I'll be reaching out to Rodney shortly to let him know of your kind words! Thanks. Best, Brad GM More

Not your normal mom and pop Mexican restaurant. Great variety of upscale Mexican dishes. Prices are reasonable and the outdoor bar area with live music is nice when the weather is right.
