Its not the best in my book but it was dang good. I thought the selection was lacking a little bit but hey this is just an opinion. The staff was top notch on friendliness. Will go again

I never would have discovered Montelongo without the assistance of a local. The food is authentic and home-made. The service was very good. Beware, the salsa is quite hot but very favorful. I had the chile relleno; not quite as good as the chile relleno at Durango's but it beats anything I get at home in CA.

This family-owned business has been around for a long time and offers good authentic Mexican food. The hot sauce has a great kick, to say the least, and go great with the fresh chips. The breakfast burritos are perfect to start the morning off right. The #5 is also highly recommended as well as the enchiladas. Perfect lunch spot for... More

My family and I have been going to this place for years (almost every week) The owner has never asked our names, the service is HORRIBLE and the last time we went the hostess sat 2 families ahead of ours when we had been there WAY longer. Food can be a hit or a miss. I would rather go to... More

We went on the recommendation of locals. Easy to find from our hotel, fast services and great prices. Delicious salsa to start the meal. Excellent food, totally homemade taste. Can't wait to go back.

I was not expecting the best when I went, but from the reviews I read I thought that it was going to be good. I was wrong. The tortillas were homemade and delicious. The beans tasted canned. The carne guisada had good flavor but meat was tough and fatty. I had a lot of fat in my burrito I got... More

I ordered food from Montelongo. Barbacoa had little meat in it, it had more fat in it than meat. Gross!! My wife ordered fajitas and she said it was too tough to eat. I'll never eat from this restaurant again, disgusting!!

If you want really good Tex-Mex you have to go to Montelongo's Yes the location is not the best(far north side of town on the Clovis Highway) and the building is dated on the outside think 60's diner, it's what is inside that makes it worth the trip. Absolutely the best Tex-Mex short of El Paso and I eat a... More

A drive from the southside, but it was worth the drive. And easy to get to. We were just visiting, from out of state, for the weekend. Locals recommended it. A bit of a wait on Cinco de Mayo, but not bad. Quiet and unpretentious. Very comfortable. Great lunch. This isn't chain Taco Whatever. For the visitors from east of... More

On entry, Montelongo looks like a fast food joint with a typical Tex-Mex menu. Talk about your false first impression! The staff is sweet. The MOD was funny -- he overhead me teasing my nephew about being unwilling to eat menudo, so he brought me (Mr. Menudo Virgin here) a bowl to eat (not bad, not bad). I always order... More
