Other than the manager asking us to move after we had already been seated we had a great experience! I found it rude that we were asked to move (party of 10) to a different table only for the previous table to be occupied by 10 more quests of a different party. Not sure why we couldn't sit there. However,... More

I said good morning 9 times before I got to my table, that's how warm friendly this diner is. Being from outta town that's always a huge plus being welcome. Service is quick; although, it's a week day and not more than 5 tables occupied, they had it together. I had a simple breakfast of perfect over medium eggs, sausage,... More

Breakfast or lunch CIG is a wonderful place to be served great down home cooking with friendly, over the top service. Lunch specials every day M-F (Closed Sat & Sun). Breakfast is awesome with homemade biscuits and gravy. Onion rings and Fried Green Beans are perfectly prepared. Also love their Chicken Fried Steak and Meatloaf. Unfortunately there is more and... The Cast Iron Grill is the my families favorite place to eat in Lubbock by far. The service, atmosphere, and definitly the food along with a homemade desert is the best around. If you are traveling through town or just looking for a great breakfast and lunch joint then the Cast Iron Grill is the place to be! Enjoy!

The only reason I gave it a one was there is no zero. My wife and I went in about 10:00 for a late breakfast. We spoke to one of the servers and we're told to seat our selves. And we sat there and sat there and sat there. In the mean time, we watched several tables bussed and prepped.... More

I've only been in for breakfast, just discovered this place. The Cast Iron Omelet is extremely good. I plan on going back to try some of the fantastic looking pies!

While there are plenty of accurate reviews on the great food here and the ultra friendly staff, I haven't seen mentioned how charitable the owners are. These folks frequently come in on their days off and open the place up to the less fortunate in the community and provide free meals for them. This restaurant is a shining example of... More

Love this place. I would say we frequent regularly. Their food is fabulously homemade. Their service is impeccable. Certainly have my favorites: green chile stew, chicken and dumplings, the guys say their chicken fried steak is beyond compare. The gals give the best service and always cheerfully. It is most definitely our favorite lunch spot in Lubbock.
