Texas is known for its bbq. So it's a must. But there's tons of options that are easily accessed. If you want the real deal at a good price you HAVE to drive out of your way to get it! Their brisket is ridiculous and the sizes are Texas sized for sure. You can add on a whole chicken, links... More

I once spoke to several of their employees wanting to know why is it that with so many customers stopping by, why the heck they wouldnt take more effort in cleanliness, sanitation or fixing up the place instead of leaving it so nasty?! (Mind you one being a manager)well it doesnt surprise me much, but their response was, "Because they... More

Now this place ain't my top BBQ places to eat,but I will say now that Rudy's ain't got it like this place do. There is an abundance of sides to choose from. My dad had the hashbrowns from that place and he said it reminded him of his sisters cooking so its down to earth home made stuff. Eat here... More

While vacationing in Texas, wanted to sample some other BBQ restaurants other than Rudy's....Kept hearing how the BBQ in Lockhart was the best, So, we stopped at the Chisholm Trail BBQ for lunch...got to be honest and say that I was a little disappointed. It was nice that they offered different side dishes to "enhance" the meal experience...and the prices... More

Lockhart is a tough place to compete if you are selling BBQ. In my opinion chislom does not unseat the top three. I had the sliced beef and it was ok. The sandwiches are a good value. Be aware the super sandwich has tomatoes, lettuce and mayo with the sauce which is not usually expected.

The BBQ here is good, but does not meet the standards set by Black's BBQ restaurant and others in Lockhart..

Here in the BBQ Capitol of the world, this is the winner. Everything is slightly better than Kruez, Blacks and Smitty's. I think it is the discipline of the pit masters and attention to detail. The brisket and spare ribs are competition quality. Sausage is excellent too. It is nice to be able to get a fork to eat your... More

Lockhart was always a planned stop on our 19 day roadtrip from Miami to Los Angeles with the intention finding out of Texas BBQ really is good as they say. We were not disappointed. we visited for lunch and had brisket and sausage, with sides and it was absolutely delicious, probably one of the best meals we had all trip.... More

We eat here whenever in the area. Always go through the drive-thru. Everything from a sandwich to food for a CROWD. I can't say enough about their tasty southern style home cooked food. As others have said it is very budget friendly. Frankly they have to be making money based on volume. We love it. Also, often get food to... More
