The Best Bang for Your Buck BBQ in Lockhart

While I was in Lockhart, I was talking with one of the locals, crying about how expensive the place down the road was that sold those Flintstone sized beef ribs. I was advised to go to Chisholm Trail BBQ where one could get more bang for the buck. I took that person's advise and was at Chisolm... read more

Visited while in town for our family reunion. My cousin who is a native of the area, took us to 3 of the best BBQ spots and this was our 1st stop. First or all the atmosphere is very rustic. Don't expect anything more. You get your chow, set down and eat and don't try to be cute about it... More

Wish I would have read some of the other write-ups before I stopped. Yes the meat options were very good. Great pricing to go along with it. But the sides were underwhelming and wish I would have made my own.

Ate lunch here and the prices were decent. If you have tried any of the big name BBQ's in town then this one is just soso. I've had BBQ just as good as this most anywhere,

My husband, a friend and I had dinner at Chisholm Trail BBQ on a Sunday evening. We waited about 5 minutes in line to order our dinner. All 3 of us ordered a two meat with 3 sides dinner. The dinners were $7.50 each. My husband added pork ribs for an additional $3. You serve yourself the veggies, which are... More

This is a cafeteria style diner, which didn't seem particularly clean. The staff was friendly and explained how it works, you can order by the pound on butcher paper or get a platter with 3 sides. I had the brisket and my wife had chicken, both were quite good. The sides were mixed, I thought the coleslaw was good, my... More

We were trying to get to Black's, but misjudged the GBS and ended up here. We were shocked by how horrible the food was until we realized we were not where TA had chosen as #1. The coleslaw was not well seasoned, the greens beans tasted like straight out of a can just like the baked beans. The service people... More

Tried them twice as we visited all the BBQ place in Lockhart. Family Pack is a great deal, brisket was very good, but cleanliness was a concern, and Black's, although more expensive, won our quest.

It's Texas, it's BBQ, and it's delicious. We ate on a Friday night, so it was pretty crowded. We always eat in Lockhart on our way from Austin to Corpus Christi. I will also write a review for Black's, which we ate at on the way home. We were talking with a local gentleman in line and he told us... More

Texas is known for its bbq. So it's a must. But there's tons of options that are easily accessed. If you want the real deal at a good price you HAVE to drive out of your way to get it! Their brisket is ridiculous and the sizes are Texas sized for sure. You can add on a whole chicken, links... More
