I loved Cajun food and ever since my favorite closed its doors this is where I get my fix now. And it's not bad at all. The crawfish or shrimp etouffee are the dishes to get.

We often come on Sundays. Few people this time. The food was hot, fried catfish good and the service was prompt. I know there have been concerns in the past about slow or poor service, but today at least was good. Would return.

Funky little hole-in-the-wall type place on the square. The interior can be called "rustic" - basic, comfortable, unpretentious and dusty... I had the crab cakes and a salad for lunch - it was GREAT! The service was very down-home. I thought the wait time for my food was a bit long, as the place was not very busy. Also thought... More

And we didn't get our lunch because of it. By 30-minutes of waiting the only waitress stated the cook up and left. We would have paid for our soda or at tipped the very underage servers but we had not dollars. Nothing unqiue in the menu, haphazard ranch, maritime, 80's decor. We learned later that this was typical for this... More

All I am going to write without boring the reader to death is that this place has the worse service ever. It took 45 minutes to wait for 2 pieces of fried catfish and steamed vegetable. 45 minutes. The waitress obviously dropped the ball because she relied on her memory rather than writing the order on her pad. WIll NEVER... More

We ate lunch at this restaurant. Service was friendly but slow. I had the pot roast served with mashed potatoes and corn on cob for $11.95. What a rip off. The corn on the cob had no taste and the potatoes were fair. The roast was good but for the amount it cost for a 1/2 cup of shredded beef... More

The "world famous" crab cake was good but not excellent, however the topping was excellent. The atmosphere is nice. The service (at lunch) was pretty slow; they weren't ready for the crowd that was there.

We stopped in and were greeted by friendly staff. The dinner was delicious. I ordered a chef special of a sweet potato covered catfish with a very tasty side dish. My husband had crawfish etouffee. These dishes had a medley of interesting flavors. We were happy with the meal and the price. The cafe had a nice atmosphere.

Acme Dry Goods is a quiet cafe on the square in town. We tried the "world-famous" crabcakes, and while they were good, they weren't the best we've ever had. They had a bit too much breading for my taste. We had the nightly special, which was tilapia with crawfish sauce and also chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes & salad.... More
