I have eaten here twice in the last 6 months while in the area to fish. The food is okay; not bad, not great. It's Tex/Mex like we ate at Monterrey House in the 70's and 80's. I don't know why folks expect to get great Tex/Mex in a small East Texas town and are upset when they don't; it's... More

We had lunch at El Burrito on way through from Houston. The location is very convenient right on the highway. The staff was very friendly, but food is average at best, My chili relleno had so much cheese poured on top that I had to remove about half of it. The refried beans are good and salsa is fairly good.... More

We have driven from Indiana to Livingston Texas and this restaurant was next door to our hotel. It came highly recommended and we had never eaten at one of these restaurants before. We were quickly seated had delicious hot warm chips a different kind of salsa which was thin and thick not chuncky and I really liked it. The food... More

We are RV'ers, just passing through Livingston to pick up our mail at Escapees. Restaurant was recommended by locals so we gave it a try. We are kind of Mexican food snobs having lived near the border in California for 35+ years. Loved the green sauce, chips were fresh, food was awesome. And to top it all off, we showed... More

This used to be the only Mexican food on town for many years. Now we have 3 more choices, which overall, are better. But, we were in the mood for Cheese Enchiladas and El Burrito consistently has the best! Filled with cheese, smothered in Chile sauce, topped with onions (you have to ask for the onions) Their beans are pretty... More

I had Sour Cream chicken enchiladas and they were very good. I just like the Acapulco chicken enchiladas better...they are covered with queso. The green sauce and queso dip were fantastic. Service was very good too.

Not a very impressive entrance. We were sat at what appeared to be a dirty table, and there was no communication from the hostess, so we weren't even certain of where to sit at first. Chips and salsa weren't that good. Our margaritas were syrupy tasty, clearly no alcohol in them. She asked if we wanted to purchase shots to... More
