It's a really nice building great location but the food was terrible! My husband had the sea food platter everything was frozen prepackaged cheap seafood you could buy at Walmart, and the worst was the catfish!

The specialty is catfish and David Beard's Catfish Kitchen is a master of the art. The fish, with cornmeal breading always comes out crisp on the outside and moist on the inside, and absolutely non-greasy. You cannot feel or taste the oil it was cooked in. It takes a master chef to accomplish that. The restaurant also has a decent... More

Good food, friendly staff, rustic decor, reasonably priced, easy to get to. Don't let the name put you off, they had a wide variety of seafood,a great salad bar, and burgers and steaks.

I don't know why some people have written bad reviews, this place is terrific. First, the parking lot is packed at lunchtime. We arrived at 1:00 and had a hard time finding a parking place. Once we entered, the hostess greeted us with a big smile and led the way to our table. This place is huge, and very busy.... More

You get more fish you can eat. They have a great grilled fish for those who do not like fried. Comes with a salad bar.

My mother and I visited the Catfish King on 59N in Livingston today for lunch. Not only is the seating and atmosphere comfortable but spacious. Everyone there was so friendly and helpful and the food was scrumptious. We had salad, fried catfish, pinto beans, and cole slaw. I could not have done better. I am still impressed and making plans... More

Maybe I am out of touch with this type of restaurant but it is just a place of fried, greasy food. There are lots of families eating there.

Nothing to brag about. Fried catfish is decent. Salad and bean bar good. Not remarkable food. Livingston has better offerings

Ordered a steak, it was burned & dried out. The fish was supposed to be the specialty but even it wasn't good. We waited 20 minutes just to ask for a drink. Priced weren't bad but we've been once & never again.
