Weikel's Bakery on Highway 71 has some of the best kolaches in Texas! It's well worth the stop. It's also a great place to stop on the way between Austin and Houston.

Great selections of Kolaches. I ordered the cherry cream and poppyseed. The bakery is located inside a gas station along with a deli station. The deli station made great fresh sandwiches also. I ordered a philly cheese sandwich.

As soon as you can you need to stop by Weikel's. Don't worry about how to pronounce the name when you get inside and taste a fruitfilled kolache or pocket the name won't worry you except to remember where it is. Yeah, while you're there you can get many other things convenience stores have but remember to keep the main... More

I love this place. It's just a good thing it's too far away for me to get to easily, but I never miss it when traveling anywhere near LaGrange, TX. I can't say anything about their food, although it's a very popular place to eat, but I must tell you that they make wonderful baked goods in the Czech tradition.... More

Random stop for gas and a bit of food and found some of the most delicious pastries ever! I am also a nut about pickles and their spicy garlic pickles are excellent. I'm just made that I didn't order more and I can't get them anywhere else but online and the shipping is a lot!

Stop here rather than the other places on the highway near LaGrange. My wife often gets half a chicken salad sandwich because a whole sandwich is to much fr her. I like the pulled pork myself. I think the best thing in the bakery apple strudle. The cherry bars are excellent too. Actually...it's all good!

This has always been a must stop for us if we are heading in that direction. MUST TRY. Cinnamon rolls - fluffy, with raisins/pecans & fruit kolaches! Clean gas station, with sandwich shop and the bakery. Get your order and sit out side just watching the traffic that comes in & out of this fine bakery! Enjoy.

Quick stop on our travel, got breakfast to go. Only to realize once we got back on the Hwy and had our first bite ... wish we had bought more!

Been coming here since college days when was a little gas/convenience store 25 years ago. My Czech family lived down the road from here and when my old Czech grandma could not make kolaches anymore , we found these to be the closest thing to hers. I remember telling some old Czech ladies that worked in the bakery back then.... More
