Bakery!

There is nothing better than stopping at a Czech or German bakery. It fills my heart, and tummy, with joy! Start with the kolaches, but don't forget the cakes, cookies, and Honey Bees(sticky buns). This location is large and very eye appealing from the road. Plenty of parking places, umbrella tables outside where you can enjoy your lunch or pastries and drinking your soda or coffee. There are also tables inside if it is too hot to eat outside. The service was extremely fast for as crowded as they were. We ordered some kolaches... More

There is nothing necessarily wrong with Weikel’s, but then there’s not much right either. It is just a big store behind some gas pumps. At one end is a bakery counter with kolaches and other bakery items for sale. While they seem to be popular with lots of locals stopping in to buy a boxful, we couldn’t understand why. A... More

We stopped here based on previous TA reviews and were not disappointed. We were on the way to Houston and passing by anyway so decided to give it a try. I had two cookies and they were some of the best I have ever had. We decided to stay and eat at a table there before leaving and struck up... More

This is a great place for delicious baked goods like the Kolaches, and my favorite the Rice Krispie Treats. Also a good stop for lunch with specials of the day, hot meals, and fresh made sandwiches on their homemade bread. It's like stopping in at Grandma's for lunch!

along with the home made sliced wheat bread, picked okra, garlic dill pickles, and preserves. Can't wait until I return to purchase more down home goodies

We eat lunch at Weikels about once a week. They have a great turkey wrap and my favorite is the stuffed baked potato. My husbands favorite is the porker sandwich on a fresh bun with chips and a small coleslaw. The menu is varied on the many types of sandwiches, soup and other items. However, the best part of Weikels... More

Love .... and ALWAYS stop by on our way to Austin! Chocolate cream kolaches are yummy! .... pecan rolls are wonderful too. I had the opportunity to get a "philly chicken sandwich" and am just sorry I had only got one and had to split with my husband!

If you don't know what a kolache is, you must stop here and try them! If you do know what a kolache is, you're probably already stopping here. This is a perfect place between Austin and Houston for a snack, drink, and good clean restrooms. While they don't have the sausage and sauerkraut kolaches, they have many others that will... More

We stopped on the way from Austin to Houston. Clean restrooms. Amazing gift shop with cute baby clothes. Loved the bakery products-- had cookies and kolache.
