I usually get Kolaches here, which are always great! Better than any other place, I promise! But I've been trying the lunch counter here lately, and it's just as great. Had a great chef salad, and today the special was beef quesadillas, again, some of the best I've ever had, seriously!

Great stop after leaving Austin. Many many different goodies besides baked goods. They have many other local items such as honey. I also bought some great ointment called Two Old Goats in a blue bottle which is some great stuff (it's like Bengay but natural) Lots of gift items too. Nice and clean restrooms.

Best fruit kolaches! We also tried to get gas while here but their pumps are not equipped for newer vehicles. I have a new ford edge and there is no gas cap so the gas pump nozzle needs to be thinner to fit into the fuel tanks; their pumps were a bit older and would not fit.

Yes, It may be a glorified gas station, but the Kolaches are fantastic! Since you've probably gotta stop and get gas anyway, why not indulge in some amazing Czech pastries?!?!? I highly recommend the cottage cheese kolache and the poppy seed kolache. While they make them in a bazillion different flavors, Weikel's has nailed these two authentic Czech varieties. Seriously... Seriously fabulous kolaches. Especially the jalepeno sausage ones !! The sweet ones are great coming from a person who hates honey buns and the like. These will knock your socks off. So does the rest of the food or dessert there. Adjust your belt size from trim to fat after stopping here.

We stopped in Sat after Thanksgiving to grab something for breakfast. We found a large variety of cookies, breads and kolaches to choose from. We chose the variety pkg of kolaches. They were fresh out of the oven & delicious! I highly recommend anyone to stop & try it.

I used to go get donuts and Colotchie's here when I was a little girl and as I grew up and I remember them being so good and their cookies too. Recently I purchase some sweets and breakfast and was not impressed a couple of the people behind the bakery look as if they were on drugs not very friendly... More

This simple country bakery has grown into large travel plaza because of the great popularity of their kolaches. A kolache is a yeast bread pastry with an open center filled with traditional sweet jams like apple, apricot, peach, berry, cream cheese, and plum. Don't miss the poppy-seed kolaches a local delicacy. Weikel's also makes sausage kolaches, various cinnamon rolls, cakes,... More
