Felt like in Guavate kiosk. The mofongo was awesome. If you want to try Puerto Rican food, this place has the taste and you will smell the island here.

A friend actually took me here back in 2005. My most recent visit was with a girl friend of mind who enjoyed the fried plantains. The food was good, and staff welcoming, very friendly and down to earth environment.

La Garita is a Puertorrican restaurant, the food is decent, not bad for the price. We drove 3 hours from Fort Worth to get there, in my opinion is not worth the drive.

Great service. Great food. Lots of flavor. Affordable. If you miss it, they have it. They even have all kinds of puertorican desserts.

I went to La Garita the first time last week. Very good flavorful and authentic Puerto Rican food like mama used to make. La Garita is a small simple place. No fancy table service. The snobs would call it a dive. You order & pay at the counter. Very friendly service. I went for lunch and the place was packed.... More

I am from NYC and my husband was stationed down here in Fort Hood. A friend recommended this place and it is authentic Puerto Rican food which I love to order when I miss my grandmother's cooking. LOVE IT!! It is NOT Mexican food even though they just added some Tex-Mex on the menu but mainly Boriqua. LOVE their Mofongo!... More

When I don't feel like cooking certain dishes (from Puerto Rico), and want to save time time... I order from La Garita! Tostones with garlic sauce, arroz con gandules (pigeon peas and rice), pernil (roast pork), bistec encebollado (cube steak and onions), mofongo... Serving are big... And prices are no too bad. If planning on going for lunch on a... More

Great food that is usually hard to find. This is a great lunch spot and judging by the lines, there are many people who think the same.
