I would say absolutely a casual night. A local favorite. I have been going there for more then ten years now.

I am really good at making lasagna. I have had some of the best in Houston. But Hoagie Ranch, by far, exceeds any I've had before.
Always a favorite when we are headed out in the water. We live dining him but they do a great job with to go orders as well. We live the diverse menus, freshness of their ingredients, and super friendly staff.
The sandwiches are good but the Chicken Tortilla Soup is fabulous. Hands down the best I've ever had. I always order my sandwich hot and it's flavorful and the bread is great. It's locally owned and operated by an area family. It's consistently excellent.
These sandwiches are large and well worth the price. The John Wayne is a cheese steak that tastes great. One word of caution is the the ranch fries is just a name with nothing to do with ranch dressing. Its decorated all along the walls...and ceiling with an eclectic assortment of collectibles. In addition it has some darn tootin fast and friendly service.More
I love the Hoagie Ranch. The Chicken Tortilla Soup is the best I've ever had. It clears out my sinuses and always makes me feel better. The sandwiches and salads are good, too. The hot ham and cheese is fabulous.
I’m trying to eat at new places when we come down for the weekend. Have driven by this place for 5 years and finally decided to try it. I’ve been missing a great place. Good burgers and full bar. I will come back and try...dinner. Lots of cool stuff to look at.More
I have no idea where the positive reviews are from. I just tried to eat the John Wayne and could only stomach half of it. Jersey Mike's I so much better and 1/3 the cost, I will never return to this so-called restaurant again.
We had a very warm welcome by this quaint restaurant after a day at the NASA centre and Kemah Boardwalk with the kids. We sought out this non-chain/ independent fun Texan atmosphere with light eats to’finish our day and we weren’t disappointed. The place’ is...stuffed with all kinds of curiosities and American memorabilia. The staff were lovely we even met some local Sheriffs. Thanks for a lovely visit.More
Good hoagies, much more than a subway sub. Fixins on the hoagie include peppercini, tomato peppers, great homemade sauces. They will make any hoagie into a salad for the same price as hoagie. Great homemade Ranch dressing. Full bar. Very fast service.
I read a few posts on here at Trip Advisor that were negative and I am just rolling my eyes. What morons. I have known the owners for many meany years and they are wonderfully tenderhearted folks who know and understand what charity really is....The food is outstanding and unique to the area. Jim, the owner, is a jovial fun loving guy who loves his business and his customers. If you come Friday nights, you'll have access to handcut steaks - the best in town and they are HUGE. My dad and I are big eaters and we come in and split *the small* steak - so bring your appetite. Janice (owner) is Jim's wife and can be perceived as cranky from time to time, but she has a good sense of humor, loves her clients, and is proud of her food. And that's an honest heads up from a regular. Just don't try to take her pork chop and alls well ends well.More
I used to go eat here often many years ago but haven't been in about 10 years as there is so many places to eat. I decided to bring the wife here recently and glad I did. I had the Italian Stallion toasted and it...was as great as I remember it. My wife had the barbecue which I never had before and she loved it and I tried it and thought it was excellent. I don't plan on waiting long to come back here again. It is dark inside in places and I had a hard time seeing the menu until I got up and went to a light source to see what I wanted to order.More
We eat here regularly - Usually for lunch where they have great sandwiches - Pastrami , the John Wayne ( Philly Cheesesteak) , and many others - BLT , Club , etc. special time is Friday night - had cut garlic sirloin steaks - best...deal in town - 1/2 serving is huge, full serving can feed my whole family of 5.More
Food was delicious! Lasagna tops Carrabbas'! Meatball sub superp. Fun restaurant atmosphere that is super interesting (lots of unusual things to see). Friendly, hardworking staff
Second time I've been here. The food was excellent both times..This time I had a pastrami on rye with double meat 9" with fries we shared. I will be back.
