I used to practically live at Marini's on Westheimer when I was in college in the mid-70s. It closed, and I've missed the food ever since. I recently read that the family opened this restaurant in Katy, and I lost no time in zipping down the Grand Parkway! Just as yummy as I remember, with loads more choices. We ordered... More

My husband and I have gone here at least three times since we moved to Katy, TX and probably would have been more if we weren't trying to eat at a bunch of different restaurants to figure out the area. This place is always great no matter what empanada's you get and the deserts are amazing. We're working our way... More

We enjoyed the Gaucho and spinach style empanadas and accompanied it with a good Malbec and Quilmes beer from Argentina. The Dulce de Leche empanadas for dessert are fantastic. A new favourite for us in the Katy area.

This is a South American Pastry a crust folded over a filling fried. We had Chicken Florentine,Poblana,Chicken Diablo, Texas BBQ,English, and a blackberry and raspberry. They aren't very big but tasty. There are about 36 items on the menu,

Great family owned restaurant. They do empanada's and they do them well. Fries are hand cut and curly. Service polite and efficient. Save room for the chocolate empanada, they are the best!

I've driven past this place for years and after reading reviews finally tried it. We opted to take an order to go trying 3 different types and two desserts. The asparagus/cheese was yummy and so was the fig for dessert. You eat the empanada by itself like a little sandwich but nothing was served with them no salad, vegetable or... More

Six of us enjoyed a variety of empanadas, including some dessert ones. Having spent some time trying empanadas in Argentina, I thorough enjoyed everything. The beer and wine selection was well done also if we had dined in - carry out was very easy. I would love it if they added a Roquefort empanada!

I am not an empanada pro, but my Columbian friend assures me these are exceptional as far as empanadas go! Freshly made to order they are warm and wonderful and run the range of tangy, savory, to sweet and gooey. I admit I go for the dessert. The fig and the chocolate and the berry empanadas are not to be... More

All of the original Marini's empanadas I've tried are very good. They have a large, varied selection including meat filled, vegetarian and dessert empanadas. The owner and his family/ staff are very freindly and genuine people. Always a pleasant experience!

Marini's was an iconic location in Houston when I was in college. I was tickled when it reopened in Katy a few years ago. The empanadas are just as good. I still love the raspberry cream cheese for dessert. The pastry is flaky and the various fillings are delicious. A fun place for something different. Casual atmosphere with comfortable seating.
