Not your average Mexican restaurant.

We've found Las Alameda's to offer a menu that is different than most Tex-Mex sort of restaurants in the area - so a welcomed change to the monotony. It has a nice atmosphere with good patio seating (heaters and chillers, too!)

Nice location. They got everything right other than food and drinks. I got their speciality dish for which they charge $23. It was not good at all. Lot of rice and no seafood. I had to dog thorough to find what they have in it. Big rip off. They need to find a new bartender. Horrible Margarita from a Mexican... More

Atmosphere is nice and the location is great but the food is less than impressive. Kids meals are way overpriced compared to other places. The rice is not good at all! My son loves rice but hated this rice. Not a lot of variety with food, no combination plates like most Mexican restaurants. The hostesses were not nice and never... More

This used to be a favorite. I've been twice in the last month. Chips are thicker. Staff primarily now speaks Spanish only with a signficant reduction in the service standard. I had the beef nachos yesterday and the quality of the meat is poor when it used to be fabulous. When I had a poor experience earlier in the month... More

We have been fortunate to have enjoyed this restaurant over the years. Since it's original opening in 1980 near the Voss & Katy Freeway corner, we have spent numerous nights mesmorized by the unique Mexican classical interior design and almost Old World culinary perfection to meals that tantalized the palette. Menu creations and expansive wine lists were delivered with sophisiticated... More

Went back after about a year. Sunday brunch. The place is as beautiful as always and the service is wonderful. Unfortunately, the food is just so so, not horrible just average. Ordered the montulenos, this dish is usually served with ham steak, my plate arrived with a few pieces of tiny diced ham. Rather bland. Most everybody's food was warm,... More

Went there for our 33rd anniversary. Ordered two different snapper entrees, and both were the best we've had since Cozumel last month. Amazing thing happened when we were done with dinner and the waiter brought our celebratory Tres Leches cake, he also brought one to the table next to ours. Seems like they were having their 33rd anniversary as well.... More

Have visited Las Alamedas many times and always have found the staff to be friendly and attentive (or not if you want to relax prior to your meal)!
