After hearing about Big Pines for a couple of years, a buddy and I decided to take a short motorcycle ride and have lunch. We were both pleasantly surprised with the beautiful setting on the bayou. Very nice restaurant with option for dining in the deck, patio, or inside with AC. Food was good too. I will definitely make a... More

Not the same since the new owners & the fire. Still good food just doesn't feel the same. Buffet is ok but I miss the all you can eat whole catfish. The hush puppies & coleslaw are the only I will eat. Not sure if they are the best in the world. Damn sure know they are the best in... More

The food we had at Big Pines Lodge was wonderful. We ate on the deck overlooking the lake, right before embarking on the steamboat tour. We had catfish and hamburgers. The food was some of the best we've had, and the service was excellent. Our waitress was friendly and fun. The appetizers were also outstanding. We were served hushpuppies, relish... More

We had been here a few times. We like riding our bikes here with a group of friends to eat. We had visited a year earlier and apparently it was under different management and the service had gone down so we had not visited back again. We decided to give it another try. So glad we did. Since then, they... More

The attraction to eat here is eating on the bayou. The catfish was served on the bones which was unexpected. Both the alligator and fish were deep fried. Unfortunately, deep frying masked the flavor. Pleasant employees.

I stumbled on Big Pines while looking for a place to eat lunch. You have to follow signs from the main road that lead you back on the bayou but it is worth a stop. Although we only had several appetizers and some cold beers, the buffet they were prepping looked great. Our waitress, Linda, was extremely helpful and very... More

This restaurant has a great view of the bayou on Caddo Lake, particularly from the large covered patio area. We had lunch here after our cruise on the Graceful Ghost Steamboat, which docks right at the Big Pines Lodge. The menu choices and food quality were average, but the service was good and the prices reasonable.

I came here with a group of 10. We had reservations, being it was a Saturday night. We were promptly seated. The service here is very good. All of the staff was very friendly. And the views are awesome. If the weather had been better, we would have sat on the patio. It's right on the bayou. It took no... More

We ate here while waiting to board the pontoon cruise through the bayous on Caddo Lake. Super friendly staff, good food, expansive buffet, very nice lodge-feel restaurant with big patio looking out over river. The Graceful Ghost also boards here. Highly recommend this little stop off the beaten path. Pretty easy to find, but be warned you get very little... More

A little out of the way, but worth the drive. Sitting on the bayou with a great view. Food is good ol' Cajun style served from the buffet or the menu. ordered from the buffet was replete because it was replete with catfish, shrimp and other sea food items. All was delicious. If you are so inclines, there are ghost... More
