Typical country cooking. We had chicken fried steak, fried catfish.. The very best thing was hush puppies. Omg, they looked much like a funnel cake. We'll go back for those for sure! You get free ice cream for dessert too. This place is a long the river and very scenic.

Based on the recent reviews here, my husband and I decided to visit this restaurant on "Terrific Tuesday" during our week long stay in the area. We arrived to find the restaurant CLOSED on Tuesday. A quick check of the website and I found that apparently they have changed it to "Terrific Thursday". We were hungry and disappointed. Lesson learned:... More

We were just here for the 2014 Labor Day weekend. Since we were staying in our own cabin we brought plenty to grill out with but knew we were going to eat here at least once. The place looks new and I'm told it is because they rebuilt from a fire a few years ago. Their super long dock for... More

We got a warm welcome when we walked in and just went straight to load up on hush puppies and fried everything. Considering the alternative (going hungry) it was worth the drive from our cabin. We stopped in to take a couple of Arnold Palmers (half sweet tea, half lemonade) on the deck while we were waiting for the Graceful... More

It had been awhile since we had been to Big Pines but I am so glad we decided to go check the, out again! Outstanding food and service! And words can't describe how delicious the fish was! We'll definitely make a Big Pines trip a common outing!

It had been a while since we had visited Big Pines. We were surprised that they had put in a buffet and after the waitress told us it was only 6.99 on their "thrifty tuesdays" we were skeptical. The buffet was well stocked and the fish was hot and well seasoned. We were pleased with the service we received sitting... More

Big Pines burned a few years back. New owners took over and rebuilt, but since they re-opened, it's just not the same, mainly because the cook moved down the road to Riverbend. The food is still good, but it's just not the same. Now they've added a buffet, so it's knda like eating at any other buffet restaurant. They have... More

After hearing about Big Pines for a couple of years, a buddy and I decided to take a short motorcycle ride and have lunch. We were both pleasantly surprised with the beautiful setting on the bayou. Very nice restaurant with option for dining in the deck, patio, or inside with AC. Food was good too. I will definitely make a... More

Not the same since the new owners & the fire. Still good food just doesn't feel the same. Buffet is ok but I miss the all you can eat whole catfish. The hush puppies & coleslaw are the only I will eat. Not sure if they are the best in the world. Damn sure know they are the best in... More
