It doesn't get much more "Down Home" than this!

The Lonesome Spur is my favorite local restaurant for breakfast! The Spur attracts locals and visitors alike. On any given morning one can see a parking lot full of vehicles as locals enjoy generous meals at VERY reasonable prices served by friendly staff. The breakfast specials will... read more

I've had three meals here. All three were very good. Decent service and nice people. It's what I would call a "greasy Spoon" restaurant. If you're in the mood for some good Home Cookin', then this is your place. But you'll walk out with a few extra calories. But sometimes, that's just what I want. A nice home cooked country... More

I dined here a couple of weeks ago for lunch. Western style theme with homecooking. They have several plate option each day. I started to get the meatloaf but decided on the chicken fried chicken lunch. I was served quickly. The mashed potatoes and green beans were good, but a little salty for someone who watches their sodium intake. My... More

We stopped here for lunch and the place was totally packed. The menu features several down home cooking items such as chicken fried steak, meat loaf, fried catfish and pork chops. I had the chicken fried steak and it was delicious and breaded perfectly. It came with choice of two vegetables or sides. I had mashed potatoes and pinto beans... More

Went here for the Friday night All You Can Eat catfish. The food was great, fresh and hot. Husband ordered the chicken fried steak which is well portioned and fried to perfection. Both entree's are prepared from scratch and breaded onsite instead of some anonymous factory. The staff is very nice and is always checking to make sure everything is... More

Took our family here because our son likes their cakes. Floor was dirty, chairs & tables like beat up rental type. Basically a large metal garage atmosphere. Lunch time but not very busy. We ordered Philly cheesesteak which had very little "steak"; Cajun philly, which was a mystery with chicken breast & sliced sausage (?). Onion rings were huge but... More

Not my best dining experience, after being seated we waited for five minutes with no service, I ask the greeter if we could get someone to help us, it still took a good three minutes before anyone showed up, and the place WAS NOT packed. Once we received our food we never had anyone ask if we needed anything or... More

While on vacation in the Dallas/Fort Worth area we stopped by the Lonesome Spur Café in Justin, TX for breakfast. It is a little out of the way, in a small town with a western feel. The Café looks rough on the outside and has a rough, western, decor that is a little “dusty” looking on the inside. It is... More
