Great restaurant in Jefferson

This is a fine restaurant which can challenge excellent restaurants in much larger cities. The service is very good as is the food. It is an excellent dining experience. A dining experience worth the trip to Jefferson.

At the end of May my husband and I took his parents to the Stillwater Inn for dinner. They’re world travelers and live in New Orleans, so we knew it would be hard to impress them. But, boy, were they impressed. The atmosphere was serene, the staff professional and unobtrusive. The ingredients were of the highest quality and the wine... More

This is my favorite place to go for special occasions. Anniversary and birthdays. Has always been great food and wine and atmosphere. Service usually very good. This is a nice slow meal served correctly. Is a bit pricey for everyday but is well worth it on occasion.

I've eaten at the Stillwater Inn several times over the years, most recently for their traditional Thanksgiving Day meal. The menu was the expected roast turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes and peas. A very nice light gravy and cranberry sauce were also provided. The wine and drinks menu, while not extensive, was at least moderately interesting. Pumpkin and pecan... More

Thank you for taking the time to offer constructive criticism. I regret that your salad was too heavily dressed. We do make an effort to avoid that. Please feel free to ask for a replacement salad, should it happen again. More

There can be no better restaurant in Jefferson, TX. The owner and chef, Bill Stewart, was a chef at the French Room in the Adolphus Hotel in Dallas. He moved to Jefferson and has been providing exquisite food and dining for 31 years. The only reason this restaurant might not be rated the best in Jefferson is price. Everything was... More

Bill is a Chef among Chefs. I always love the duck and the stuffed portabella mushroom appetizer is to die for. There is a reason that they have been in business for over 30 years!!! Must dine here when in Jefferson. Make Reservations.

We celebrated our anniversary here upon the advice of our B&B Hostess! Like everything else Shirley Counseled us upon .... RIGHT ON TARGET! The Shrimp Scampi and Pork Tenderloin were both delicious and well presented! I would go back for the spinach/leak soup! No! REALLY! I could eat a half gallon of that delicious nectar!!! Our Server was adept, adroit... More

This is a very pleasant surprise in Jefferson. An absolute first class restaurant in an older 1890's restored Victorian home. The entrees are extensive and are prepared in the finest tradition. This restaurant has been featured in Texas Monthly as one of the best restaurants in small towns in Texas. It certainly is one of the best anywhere in East... More
