We ate in here as it was a Tuesday and most other places were closed, but we enjoyed the atmosphere, cider and food so much that we returned the following night ! The place was busy on both nights and the food was burgers, steak , tex mex and a few Southern chicken dishes . All reasonably priced.

Great food, nice people, cool combo of bar, restaurant, poolhall, and music venue. We always go to Auntie's when we go to Jefferson.

Our Valentine's dinner was cold! It is a Bar, so the beer was cold, they ran out of the wine I was drinking, which was 1 glass!

The menu is quite nice -- burgers, salads and "comfort food" entrees (aka chicken fried steak!). The big open, high-ceilinged building was very rustic and looked as though it really rocked on the weekends with a big bar and a huge stage in back for live music. We were warned that Auntie Skinners feels themselves above the law regarding no... More

I have heard a lot of good things about the quality of the food, but was not aware that it was a restaurant that allowed smoking. I thought that was no longer allowed in Texas. Smell of smoke was heavy from the moment I opened the door. The smoke also hung like a cloud in the air. Needless to say,... More

Visiting from out of town and this was my first time there. Ordered the hamburger steak at lunchtime and had to wait almost an hour. It was good just didn't need to wait that long that particular day. Didn't like the cigarette smoke at all. Didn't know it was legal to allow in public places. Would like to go back... More

We took some Canadian friends to Jefferson for something to see and do. Jefferson is such a pretty and interesting historical city. We decided to eat lunch and as we walked along and saw the different restaurants, our Canadian friends chose this place to eat (they were buying). It is a big warehouse place with lots of character. I think... More

Live in a neighboring town of Jefferson and haven't visited in a while because new ownership and it went South. Not so much anymore. Skinners is under new management! Mike and Elise Lakey, former owners and managers of Lamache's Italian in Jefferson. They are making great changes. Don't expect fast food. Everything is made to order and takes a little... More

The food was excellent and prices were very reasonable. Super catfish! Service was fast and friendly. The only drawback was smoking was allowed and we were not fond of the odor.

We had heard great reviews of this establishment and made it a point to drop in for lunch on our second day. We walked in and did not stay even 30 seconds. The bar ran parallel to several dining tables beginning at the door. The bar was completed with ashtrays for practically every stool for seating and the stench of... More
