4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 17, 2014 NEW

We went for a late lunch, walked in, sat down and our drink order was taken immediately. Within five minutes she was back to take our lunch order. We had the Club Kornbread sandwich and The Texan Kornbread with chili and both were delicious and very filling. The lunches were served with a bag of potato chips. We didn't wait... More

Went into Kitts Kornbread for lunch and this place has the worst service I have ever seen. We couldn't even get a glass of tea. We waited 15 minutes for a server then another 10 minutes and still nothing. We left. Bad service is an under statement.

The cornbread was good, but I was quite disappointed in the chicken and dumplings. I had never had C & D before, so it was nothing like I expected. Chicken in a thick broth with very doughy dumplings, no veggies at all. Will not order again. My husbands soup was good though.

Lots of places to eat in this small town, but, this is a good, affordable choice. Had the strawberry spinach salad. Strawberries were fresh and a very good size salad, served with feta cheese and walnuts.Poppyseed dressing was fabulous and they sell it at the counter. Other person had cornbread and chili and it was very filling. Served with a... More

The double chocolate pie was excellent, and the vegetarian cornbread sandwich was yummy! Would definitely go back.

The service was slow. Waitresses seemed like they didnt want to be there and took there time . Sat there for 15mins. no one asked if we were ready to go or needed anything else.We had to ask for a piece of pie. The cook took our order.

We saw the sign and went in with no expectations or preconceptions. The sandwiches a are original, creative, and DELICIOUS! I had the "Texan" which truly does have to be eaten with a fork. Janie had the "Redneck". Only the lower economic strata among us can even remember fried bologna sandwiches. Now put that on cornbread and add American cheese.... More

Not only is the food awesome....but the owner, Miss Kitt is an angel. She also makes the most incredible pies! I highly recommend her soup as well.

Went there on a Saturday afternoon during a visit to Jefferson. Was enticed by the unique menu. The food was fresh and the taste was good. The portions though are small for the higher price you pay. The service though was terrible. Had to get up to find the tea pitcher for a refill. Waitress didn't check on our needs... More

The proprietors at the Hale House recommended this for lunch, and it was awesome! I'm a foodie, and although the menu is simple, it is incredible if you like cornbread. I had the club on jalapeño cornbread, and it was SO good. The pies did not disappoint, either. The buttermilk pie was melt in your mouth and the chocolate pecan... More
